Anyone on Abbotsford near the intersection with 145th and Clifton Park on here? You guys come outside last night for the chase/crash/fleeing suspect?
Last night I'd guess about 1030pm (?) I heard the unmistakable sounds of screeching tires and car on car smashing. Then I get up and look out my window and see a squad car on my front lawn about 10 feet from my porch. Apparently the cop tried to perform a routine stop, and the suspect fled, smashed into a car on Abbotsford and then fled the car. He apparently decided mine/my neighbors fence was short enough to scale so he hopped our fence. The cop followed him as far in the car as he could, ending up jumping out of his car on my front lawn. NICE! |

I live right around there but a little farther down on Trumbull. My parents live on 145th Abbottsford. WoW! So they never caught the guy? Was the car stolen? |

I wasn't mad in the slightest. My husband was because of the car on the lawn, but I grew up wanting to be a cop so for me it was thrilling.
The cop caught the dope pretty quickly, and he's the one that said it was a traffic stop and that the guy fled and plowed into the car. Hey real pitbull you're reading too much into it. I didn't complain. I was excited. Haha |

I think midlo cops are doing a good job at keeping the "streets" of midlo safer. They also have some compassion (some of them) when an officer caught a young man out doing mischief,(never had any record) he contacted me and I got a police report and the young man and his father came to my home to reimburse me for the damage done to my property. Not every kid is a gangster, and this kid was honest and fessed up to his crime and appologized, and trust me his from the look of his hard working father and the "fear" on the kids face he will not do anything like that again. The officer said "he was really a good kid that made a mistake", many of us have done worse than what he did so I will not press charges. If more officers took a more personal participation and compasion like this officer did, we would have the best PD around, but many on the force do not take the personal thing. The kid still faces other charges, for which I hope get dropped or at least do not go on his perminent adult record. I will contact the States Attorny's office to let them know of the situation. Hopefully the other person affected by this will contact his father and get reembersed for what he did. Thanks to the officer I was not out any time or money for what he did.

I can't say, but perhaps we could get back to topic or just let this one die if it doesn't interest anyone anymore.
I checked the Star/Southtown again but no sign of this story yet. If anyone catches it, I'm guessing it'll reference Abbottsford and 145th since the crash was on that street. I don't know where the original traffic stop was supposed to be. |

I was wondering (no pun intended) on what was going on because my step-son was just then walking home from a friends house closeby, and I got worried when I saw the lights..........turned on my scanner, too late, and didn't catch anything, so we called him to make sure everything was okay.

I don't blame you.
We did discover that either a cop or the criminal broke our fence. My husband's been out there all morning painting new posts and removing the old ones. It's a nasty old fence from the old owners though so not a huge loss, but when it comes time to go back on the market better it's fixed than not.:) |

Judged:
1 First off, how did he know it was my yard, and second what nerve? Moxey yes but nervy too. He seemed pretty nice, clean cut and polite, but I still find it slightly disconcerting and a bit annoying. Hubbie didn't see it when he was fixing the fence, but I don't think he was looking for a gold necklace either. |
