So what does everybody give out for Halloween? I have some good stuff, Snickers, Kit Kat , M&Ms . I used to hate getting pennys or PAL bubble gum so I usually try to make the kids happy..and me too, snuck plenty of Kit Kats this week already.

I don't know where you may live but my block was extremely busy. In fact my Wife opened up 2 more bags of Candy. We have very little left over. By 5:30, mostly all were done.

Im om 144th and Kostner and we're usally swamped. I barely used 3 bags and the kids that did show up we're in regular clothes. Saw some old neighbors though and Family so it was a good day. One little girl did scream when she came to the door haha.

I live on 145 & Kedvale. I also had some coming to the door w/o any costume, including adults. If I didn't have so much extra candy I probably wouldn't of given them any but do to the circumstances.........

I'm a few blocks West and like I say, we had a real good turn out. As a few posted, a lot of No Costumes. Whatever as long as everyone had a safe time.

we had about what we usually get as far as numbers go.

What we seemed to have more of is minivans full of kids being dropped off by my house (I live on a corner) that were not from our neighborhood (I know a lot of the folks in my neighborhood!) and then trick or treating in our area then piling back in the van and heading somewhere else!

Not sure if one of the neighbors was giving something really good out for their treat....

I know what you mean about the Mini Vans full of Kids:):) One thing I did notice about them is, they all said T or T and Thank You!
You know a lot of Folks BUT, you don't know me:):) Or, do you and just don't know it?:):)

We had a ton by Bremen....mostly big kids not in costume which kinda sucked.....I yelled at one that practically ran a little kid over in my yard!

Then at my dismay we got a school bus full of kids dropped off at our block!! A SCHOOL BUS FULL!! Not a single one even attempting to wear a costume nor were they under the age of 14.

But all in all Halloween is my favorite time of year and I love giving out candy. I bought 8 large bags of candy and at exactly 7:15 the last piece was given out.

Did anyone else come across houses that actually had signs on their door "no candy"? A few in our neighborhood did which made it easier to not bother takin my little girls up to the door. Although my general rule is if the house is decorated we will try going to the door.

Does anyone know why the cops had 147th & Pulaski blocked around 8:00 on Halloween?? They wouldn't let you turn left onto Pulaski. I heard something about a car accident.

I attempted to turn right on Pulaski (from west 149th) at that same time. I asked the officer (very politely I might add)how much of the street was closed off as I live on Pulaski. He replied; "If you live on Pulaski you already know how to get around" Does that shed any light on the situation for you? No. Well it didn't for me either. Well,.........except for the fact that one of our rather larger (and not in the tall way) officers has an attitude problem.

I had alot of trick or treaters with costumes! Had fun giving out candy, seen alot that I knew! Had to have the hubby run to the store for more candy for me and my neighbor! I live on a corner also, and yes, LOTS of kids pouring out of vans! When it got dark, was when the older ones came with no costumes. Had kids come till like 8 or 9pm! I would normally say it's over, but had a whole bag of candy left!

I heard the accident happened by Bremen HS, so I dont know why they closed the street off that far away.

The whole reason for my post is to find out what happened and WHY the streets were closed, I don't remember complaining that the street was closed especially since I didn't have to turn down there. Before you post why don't you take the stick out of your a$$ and relax.

You gotta be kiddin' me! More vulgar comments and illogical sweeping generalizations about us Topix posters? All I can say is, "Aww Man! We were doing so good". I think we went like two weeks with out one of the trolls showing up. Shouldn't we be done with this now that school has ended. Even Jerry and the dogs have gone back to school. Oh well..........There Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Taurus

It's important that you keep that famous bull-headedness in check over the next couple of weeks. Be cool, calm and sensible and you'll find that you end up with things correctly and tidily done. Stick to the straight and narrow, no matter what the distractions or irritations around you. If you think outside the square, you'll begin to see how visualisation can change and shape your life. Trust your hunches and be ready to move on them.
