So when will there be a collection day for those of us who live north of the city?

Wouldn't it make sense for designated pharmacies to collect them for a weekly pickup?

Pharmacies don't want to collect them because they don't want to pay the high cost of incinerating the public's medication. The church in Lombard I mentioned ships them to poor in foriegn countries who can't affort medications.

The disposal of unused medicine must be made as convenient as possible for consumers in order to achieve its goal. Using existing pharmacies as drop off sites is an excellent idea. Perhaps to defray any costs, a few pennies can be added to each prescription. I wish there were permanent and convenient locations to drop off household chemicals, poisons and paints rather than the sporadic temporary locations set up by SWALCO---I always miss the collection dates in my area and end up tossing this hazardous waste in my garbage bin.
