Kate visits Valley minus Jon and the 8

I waited 3 hours and it wasn't worth it. She was so unfriendly. I know how she is on tv but she could have been a little more cordial.

I agree with Bluebird, She isnt the first one to have so many children. Is the lesson, breed out of control, gripe about the "hassles" on TV, write a book about it, etc? If that was the case, A LOT of Mothers would/could do so INcluding mine. We had Five children and some classmates families had 8 !! These "reality" shows are becoming more stupid and trivial, sad some people like them !
Grow up Kate, raise YOUR family and stop the Drama. YOU and yr husband choose to have kids, dont make them others burden and drama.

Her life is reality...hardly. I come from a big family too...8. That lady has it made. It's her personality.

She is a b***h who is in control of everything and everyone in her life, including her husband who she uses as a whipping post. Not to mention that she's completely exploiting her children for her own gain. How many people have what they have and take the trips they take with all those kids? I would have never stood in line to see her. Too bad she tied up traffic in Whitehall last night. I'm not surprised that she was less than friendly!

She is a creep. Enough with the toys for those kids. Give them to someone who deserves them.

This event was so poorly managed. There was no way they could handle the crowd that was no surprise would form after all the hype. Why would the idiots at Hackmans let this happen?
They found it funny that this event caused a traffic jam all the way back to 7th street all while they knew they were no longer letting people in the store.
They should be billed for the police time for not only responding to the "mob" their stupidity created. Nice way to treat your customers Hackmans!

Doesn't anyone notice that this is a really stupid show, that television has deteriorated to the point of being banal, that people should cancel their cable and get involved in the community. It is even more ridiculous for the Morning Call to waste paper and ink to print this article. I guess there was no real news today.

I thought it looked poorly managed. My daughter was upset that we did not stop and get in line. Why would they have her come there? Such a bad location!
I would like to hear more comments on how Kate acted. Was she really unfriendly?

I did not witness anything that people here are talking about, but my oldest daughter was there with her friend and their family. The way I hear it, it was more of Kate's "handlers" who were the ones being "less than cordial".

why is everyone complaining? b***h just for the sake of b***hing!!??! she didn't choose to have 8 children. she wanted 3! watch the show and you will see. she needs to be controlling b/c she will go insane if she is not. she only has help to clean the house and do the laundry, but she is there 24/7 unless she has book signings. at least she takes care of her family and doesn't rely on welfare to do so like kodes said! if i was offered free trips (and couldn't afford them on my own), i would jump at the chance and show my appreciation, like they do! you would want your children to see at much as possible. put yourselves in their (jon and kate) shoes. gripe about real things: i.e... unmarried teens with 3 kids! I think they are a great family with positive ideals.

plus, they are christian and go to church weekly, that's why they were at hackman's

I couldn't agree more. BUT, if she stopped complaining about her kids, she will probably stop getting all the free cars, trips, and presents. So, in her case, why would she do anything different? She always has people around to give orders to and to help her with her kids...something most families with 6 kids could only dream of.
I can't stand to watch the show. I watched it once and thought it was awful how whiny & complainy she is and how her husband just tolerates every demeaning thing she says to him.

Agreed-Michelle Dugger has 18 and you rarely see her have a hissy fit. I have much more respect for her (not the 18 part, but the acts-like-an- adult part).

they didnt plan on having 8 kids, things happen. they do a very good job at raising them. and the duggers they do it just to have more kids,they plan every pregnancy. jon and kate planned on 2 pregnancies and thats what they were given...8 beautiful children

I was there last night and was very pleased with the experience. Kate was NOT unfriendly in any way. She looked at me and gave me a big smile and said, "Thanks so much for watching the show!" How could that be taken as "unfriendly"? I am a born again Christian, as Jon and Kate are, and I don't have a problem with their show or anything. They are a real family with fertility problems and if you read the book you will begin to understand them and the decisions they make. I am very encouraged by what I read in their book, you should read it too!

The Duggars are a totally different situation...Michelle Duggar has lots of help from all of the older children.The older ones do the wash,clean,cook,and take care of the younger children.I'm not saying Michelle doesn't work hard either,but it's much,much different when 6 of your children are all the same age and the other two you have a still a little too young to do any major chores.

Do you people actually watch the show. She has constant help from relatives, neighbors, and the crew from the network. Her and her husband have turned this fertility drug experience into a career. They do not work, take any free handout from local, national, or worldwide sponsors that include trips, vacations, or surgeries. Please name me one reality TV child that did not go crazy? These kids are in for a world of ridicule when they get older thanks to their parents exploiting them.

Why do people give a krapp about this lady and her unwatchable show?
