Remember it well I think it is still the coldest winter on record,If I remember right alot of snow and got 25 below and stayed there for a while,That was A bad one.

There was one in 77 and 78. The one in 77 is the one that stayed for soooo long. The Ohio River froze that year. May 1st there was still piles of snow in the edge of parking lots. I have a picture of myself and my family standing on the Ohio River underneath the bridge at Shawneetown, IL. I'll never forget that winter.

Thanks so much for the info.
What I remember best was sledding down the hill on the hood of a Volkswagon beetle with my mom and sibs.
