One of our WW2 heros of WW2, a soldier who survived the BATAAN DEATH MARCH, died at the age of 105 years old. Over 10,000 soldiers were killed on the march, out of over 76,000 captured american and Philipinos. Albert R. Brown died Aug 14, 2011. I met and knew a Bataan Death march survivor. He became a great friend of mine to this day I do not understand how a man could survive such harsh treatment and starvation and lack of medical they went through in thsoe POW camps once captured by the Japanese.
