Smoking ban: Ban on smoking in Wisconsin facing intense debate in Madison

i think that we should have the freedom to smoke whereever!

I am a smoker and dont agree with including bars, but there could be benefits from it.....i dont smoke at restaurants etc etc, but I do like to smoke at the bar...Maybe not smoking at the bar will make some people stop going to bars and in turn, possibly keeping some drunk people at home instead of driving from the bar to home...

Just be polite about it. Know the times/places you really shouldn't.

i really dont think it really matters if smokin is cool or not. it should be up to the person who owns the building and be donw wit it. That would be like me walking into ur home and you are now allowed to fart in your house who am i to do that

I smoke because i want to. Most smokers know that just dont care. Thats the problem everyone wants to blame everyone else except themselves. If someone really dosen't know by now how bad smokin is they must of just climbed from a rock or a thirdworld country. They pound in our heads how bad smokin is since little kids we're not stupid just dont care if you dont like smoking leave. If you dont wanns leave deal wit the smoke and leave my bars for smokin

Its a know fact Smokers only Smoke to keep the Non Smoking idiots away from them.

I smoked for 5 months because I had two friends who didn't, and everyone else did. This activated my families tendency towards having a heart murmur. Think about that! Five months. No one should smoke. It's a stupid idea no matter who you are.

I call bullcrap, it is all psychological. If what you say is true then every time one of your family breathed any air they would get said murmur since the air is filled with pollution from vehicles which is found in much higher concentrations and contains many of the same chemicals.

I'm upset that they got the preemption clause slipped in. After all the years the tobacco lobbyists have been pulling/pushing that crap, you'd think folks would know better by now.

After all, Michigan is right next door, and the difficulty of getting rid of such a clause is right out front for everyone to see.

Don't forget the household cleaners, camp fires, charcoal grills, fireplaces, wood burning stoves, and I certainly hope that these people don't use gas powered lawn mowers or snowblowers because we all know that the exhaust from those machines blow right back in the users faces.(might cause a heart murmur).
