WASHINGTON – Less than a month before mid-term elections, the Washington-based watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington has named U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., to its list of the 26 “most corrupt” members of Congress.

CREW gives her the designation based on what it calls “her repeated failure to properly report campaign receipts and expenditures, including payments made to a family-owned business.”

Blackburn campaign spokesman Darcy Anderson dismissed the listing as old news wrapped in a fundraising appeal.

“The FEC dismissed this matter two years ago after the Congressman discovered and addressed it with her constituents,” Anderson said.“The only new information is that CREW wants more money.”

CREW bases its negative designation on Blackburn’s past history of errors in filings to the Federal Election Commission, dating back to her first run for Congress in 2002.

Nothing in the CREW assessment is more recent than 2008 and the listing of the most corrupt is accompanied by a fundraising request.

Blackburn, who is in her fourth term, faces Democrat college professor Greg Rabidoux of Clarksville on Nov. 2.

Rabidoux took advantage of the CREW list to do some retail politicking.

“Sadly, I am not surprised,” said Rabidoux.“Actually, this is at least the second time she has been named as one of the most corrupt members of Congress. This election, voters will finally have a clear choice between the incumbent Blackburn, and her being named most corrupt, and me, who will represent them in an open and honest manner.”

CREW named Blackburn to a list of "dishonorable mentions" in it 2008 list of the 20 most corrupt member of Congress.

CREW, a non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)3 organization under the Internal Revenue Code, is supported by individuals and foundations, including the Carnegie Corporation, Wallace Global Foundation and the Open Society Institute, according to its director, Melanie Sloan. She noted that a similar report last year named eight Democrats and seven Republicans.

Besides Blackburn, the list includes U.S. Reps. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., and Maxine Waters, D-Calif., both currently involved with House ethics complaints, and Sens. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., the minority leader, and John Ensign, R-Nev., whose parents paid off the cuckolded husband of his mistress.

In April of 2008, Blackburn summoned reporters to explain that she had found errors in reports going back several years and had failed to report $286,278 in expenditures, including $18,821 paid to a fundraising consulting company run by her son-in-law, Paul Ketchel. It also failed to report $102,044 in contributions.

Marsha is down to earth as a person, and if you think I want another democrat in the house to pack the way for Obama, you don't know how most of the people who vote feel.

Check out the American Family Association website to see the voting records if TN Check out the American Family Association website to see the voting records of TN House and Senate representatives. The AFA has done all the work for us by researching the critcal issues of our current time in history. I used to vote strickly party line, but have come to realize that my vote needs to go for the candidate, regardless of party, who votes for the values that are important to me. Make sure your representative walks the talk and that their voting record reflects a sincere desire to keep America strong!!

I will vote for whomever strives to maintain the Christian values and morality set by our founding fathers, as penned in our constitution. I believe that America became the greatest, wealthiest nation in the world due to God's blessing on our acknowledgement of his word and on our desire for his guidance in ruling our great land. I believe that we have progressively strayed from what we once held so dear, God's morals and guidance, and that we are now reaping the consequences. It is my sincere desire to see our country restored to greatness by our people, whose work ethic and patriotism were once admired by the world. We became arrogant and self-sufficient, thinking we could do all things without God, and, since he's a gentleman, he has stepped back and let us walk right into our undoing.

Marsha Blackburn voted against an increase in Social Security that so many seniors desperately need. However, she accepted the last raise congress voted themselves. I would not vote for a democrat who would support Obama; so I voted for the independent.

It is not the Democrats in Washington who exported those jobs, and if the voters have now been sufficiently manipulated to vote in a Republican Congress now and a Republican president in 2012, the Republicans are proposing policies that will make the export of jobs worse while at the same time, reducing protections for the average citizen.

See article below.

I did not say that I would vote for a candidate that said they believe in God.(not "a" god, by the way, but The God, the father of Jesus Christ.) I said that I would vote for the candidate whose voting record supports the morality and principles on God's word.

Jim i am a american citizen,China is not going to let the USA bully them around as the USA has done in other parts of this planet.Soon China will be giving orders to citizens of USA. Blame who you wish,,I believe it is both partys. Yse the rich get rich, and the poor get pooer. What is the wealth of US Senators??? What is the Wealth of Lamar Alexander? I say Alexander because all he has ever been involved in is politics. 70 US Senators are worth over a million dollars.
