I think it would b nice if the community to get the grant money to open the pool back up it was nice to have somewere to go growing up there was always lots of kids there and the cops are always patrolling the area so it would b safe for our children. I heard the man who use to donate money to keep up the maintenance on the pool passed away so unfortunately there hasn't been anyone willing to open up the pool since, but there has to be some kind of grant money available to provide children with a decent place to hang out in the summer instead of worrying about having sex and doing drugs

Ooo I miss this place!! I'm
Not sure about the man donating money, but I do know that one reason it's not open is because it's falling apart, pipes and Everything and it's costing way to much to fix it. Also because of other money issues.Jim and Dale would love to have the pool up and running again!!! They were great people, 2 great bosses also!!!

I went there as a teen and that is where I was introduced to marijuana, and I lost my virginity in the boy's bathroom area. I hope that they bulldoze that shit heap into the river.

No, as I said, it is a sh!t heap. I will admit when I was younger I made some poor choices, but I am the furthest thing from an idiot you will ever meet.

The Middleport Pool is a symbol of the town itsself. It was good in it's glory days, but now it is run-down and too expensive to repair. Just shove it in the river and let the grass grow where it used to stand.

My mom and her siblings used to go to that pool when they were young and they are in their 60's and 70's .. I think that they need to tear this one down and build a new one...instead of putting all this money into the old one.

Building a New pool is a great ideal. But, you all know how the Mayor and City Council is. They would have the inspector to inform the builder it has to be above flood level. Then you would have to have quite a few stairs to climb just to get to the pool. The Mayor, City Council and the Inspector enforces this Flood Plain Rule to the spec. This is what they call a above ground pool.

ok people listen here they cant tear it down it is historical pool and it is part of everyone and every thing . and it can be repaired if the people repairing it new what they where doing which the times that it did not work was cause the people dont do the job right. dont get me wrong but i love jim and dale and i know how the city and the mayor is and there familys go to this pool at on time or another. and i want it 2 open up so i can take my kids to show them where there mom leard to swim and spent her summer at ... but u people that want 2 bull dose it and tear it down u guys are crazy..... if they tear it down i will be pissed because thats wear i meet my husband and i love him and the pool brought alot of people together and keep people together remember that u all.....

And FYI Middleport pool is the only above ground pool left in Ohio ( and the rest of the states maybe) I will do my research. It is very important to keep this pool. If the towns and people could come together and raise money for the repairs, maybe we would have a place our kids could retreat to in the summer. Its better than the river. Atlest there are people to watch our kids, along with their parents. Come on people, how many of us went there when we were kids?? And how many memories did we make???

I didn't say they were bad guys, I don't have to respect what I don't condone...Just because I don't condone homosexuality doesn't mean I am a bad person...and just because I make a comment about it doesn't mean I don't like the people who are gay...It's the influence I would be concerned about...they promote it and I don't want my children/grandchildren to be under the supervision of two guys who openly are affectionate in public around them...I have taught them that it is WRONG and will continue to do so...You have your oppinion and I have mine...I know Jim and Dale better than most of you...I like them...don't have a thing against them...they just need to keep their relationship private, not display it to the children who go there...
I know them too

and they are really nice people but I agree...they shouldn't display it publicly...but really in these last days you will find it everywhere...and it won't ever stop..it has been around since the days of Noah...God destroyed 2 cities because of it so that tells me it's immoral...
Dale wasnt always gay
