Cubs Fans Name Baby Boy Wrigley Fields

What idiots. Why name him that? I'm a big hard rock fan but never thought about naming my kids Zeppelin or Aerosmith. Sheesh!!!

Anyone who has ever watched a Cubs game from the bleacher would understand why they named their son Wrigley. I hope the he grows up to appreciate his birth name by attending many games at Wrigley Field.

As a retired (30 years) teacher I can tell you how dreadful some of the names people give to their children are and how the children must endure torment from their peers. The educational environment is difficult enough without the added burden of some silly whim from their parents. It's a crazy world and getting crazier each day. America, we need to find you again!

Completely agree. Hendrix or Joplin would have been much better! ;)

At least these poeple arent celebrities. Those kids have names like Apple, Rumer, Pilot Inspektor, Rumer.....

OMG I feel so sorry for this kid when he gets to school. This is just another example of how stupid parents can be.

By the time he enters school he will probably have a nickname. Something like......... Well, anyway, something.

I hope he grows up to be strong, cuz I envision daily beatings on the playground for this poor kid.

People will not resist the temptation to tell him that he's named after a ballpark for a losing team and is therefore a loser himself. Poor kid. I just hope the Cubs win a World Series soon so he can claim to be named for a winner.

I'm as big a sports (and Cubs) fan as anyone, but I feel so sorry for this poor kid! He will have to endure a lot of teasing just because his parents thought they were being cute. People should really think about what they're doing to their children when they give them names like that.

Might have been worse - could have called him W. C. or Sydney

Marshall would would have been a better name--as in Marshall Fields. in 20 years, no one would understand the connection.
