What changed is that idiocy took a break,,,, animals are not equal to people,,, they are still property regardless of what you mentally challenged ARAs think. Sure she deserves to be punished but not with a felony.
Animals have the right to garlic and butter.
"" You are a freaking moron."" Any person in their right mind would not starve to death an animal that they have and supposedly love...they would act like a normal person and find it another home...some of us have a heart when it comes to our pets...I sure as hell hope you don't have pets...cause I can see how YOU would take care of them...when you choose to adopt a pet,you chose to take care of them...not leave them in a cage for 2 months to starve to death...she should have been charged with a felony and made to take care of the animals in the Humane Society for her Community Service...she probably thought the same way you do...and both of you are morons...

How we treat those that can do nothing for us or benefit us in any way is a reflection of the moral compass of that person. So sad.......she doesn't have a heart...treat it as a felony

Yeah, and after you spend all that time marking your entries to your stands, I'll be the one that comes along to either cut them down or pry them out of the trees and rearrange them so that you cannot find your freaking stand in the dark. GPS... are you so lazy or just plain inept that you cannot spend enough time in the woods to find your stands without technology holding your hand?... Oh, and if I find any beer cans on the ground under them, the next time you climb it will be the time it falls apart underneath you.

I think it should be a felony but where she comes from they eat dogs . I only hope she will never own another pet as long as she lives. If they are not charging her with a felony then they need a direct order that she never owns another pet.Maybe she will go on a safari and get eaten by canibals. what a piece of work Her parents must be real proud of her. Rest in piece Ella come back as a pitbull and bite her sorry but.Good thing she didn't have a kid the roommate might not of liked kids then she could have done what the late mrs duckett did with her child. We all need to write the judge and the prosecuting attorney to show are outrage of a reduced charge.

Look Bozo, it's murder. I respect other humans, I respect animals regardless if they are a "lesser species" as you so thoughtlessly stated. I believe a eye for an eye and agree with all the other compassionate persons that she deserves to be locked in a small cage, with no food or water and have her captor walk out of the room and lock the door. If more justice like this were meted out, perhaps there wouldn't be such disregard for human or animal life. There seems to be no boundaries in life anymore. Everyone assumes they can get away with whatever they damn well feel like. I think at least the judge could have sentenced her to 30 days in jail; I mean, what if this person has babies? Will she just grow tired of them and leave them somewhere alone? I too am glad I don't live in Brevard County as I know I would def spray paint her front door, her car and whatever was available with "MURDERER" because what she did to that poor dog was unforgiveable.

How many times do you need to respond till you get it right? Perhaps yer panties are just in that tight a bunch.
How I treat my pets is not the issue, however,, my entire life I have had great dogs who were very healthy, loyal and well behaved. They respected me because I was the master, unlike so many idiots I see weaving in traffic with a dog jumping all over the car. Could this be you,, so stupid you can't get friendship and respect from your own species, so you own a pet to make you feel better?
I see treating animals as humans as a much bigger problem in society than an isolated case of abuse.
Y'all need to get a life and find some humans that need protecting instead of wasting all this energy and angst over a member of a lower species.

"OOO let's save the little animals,,,, they're people too" total idiocy
Most people that feel like I do are out enjoying a nice windy Sunday in the woods exploring and using the GPS to mark where the tree stands are gonna go come bow season,,,or on the lake or ocean hooking into fresh caught dinner for tonight,,, or on the trails on their own property called a horse. These folks won't let idiots like you help PETA stop all these wholesome activities no matter how hard they try.
As for me, I am just finishing up some work and heading out to do some property management,, see if I can whack some racoons and armadillos so that the rabies season may not be so bad,, and the gopher tortoise eggs have a little better chance of hatching. Nice response, caveman. Why don't you "whack" them with a club? Afraid you might get hurt?

You have trivialized an act of total indecency - at least when an animal is killed in your hunt it dies quickly. Or do you chain it to a tree and come back after it starves to death? Big difference - the starvation of this dog was done knowing that it would suffer greatly over an extended period.

You act like you are above everyone and everything - you aren't, you are just a sad excuse for a human being. I hope you fall out of the tree stand and the animals eat you for lunch.

Where are your supporters? YOU HAVE NONE - pretty clear you are in the very small minority on this one. Go back under the rock you came out from under.

Let's IGNORE the idiot, "Learn Past" and get back to the subject: the reduction of the felony animal-cruelty charge against Christine Abrams. Any prosecutor who thought he/she could not get a conviction on this charge should be FIRED!

Refile the felony charge and hir this b*tch HARD! H*ll, charge her boyfriend as an accesory.

OOOOoooohhhhhh a cyber bully,, cyber threatening me,,, I will probably cyber-piss my cyber-pants!!! You really ought to be proud being such a cyber-badass.
What do you mean "people like me" and "people like you" ? You don't know me, and what makes you think I need any help,,, doin just fine on my own thanks.
I don't need to name call and threaten to make my point,,, common sense for thousands of years agrees with me,,, compared to 20 years of anthropomorphistic idiocy that accompanies the world going into the toilet that agrees with you. Just trying to wake you idiots up before it is too late.
I do imagine your wish for the end of freedom and personal responsibility, for the end of America as the best nation in the world would be made easier by wiping out the disease of logic and common sense,,, unfortunately for you "people like me" will prevail. History bears this out.
It is very scary that people actually think this way.....too much inbreeding, I suppose.

Perhaps a dog doesn't loom very large in the general scheme of things; however, it's a well-documented fact that people who treat animals badly very often treat other humans badly as well. And even if you don't consider animals as "one of the family," as many people do, what about the simple, concept of "doing the right thing?" Who in their right mind would leave a living creature to starve to death? That's just plain stupid and irresponsible. Even if she'd had the dog euthanized, that would've been more merciful than what she did.

She should be locked up and someone should forget to give her food and water. Why the hell was this reduced? Did the dog not die in a cruel enough way?

I can't believe that she only got a misdemeanor for this. I think she should be left without food and water in a cage. It just shows that everything gets reduced and she will probably be able to get and abuse another dog or maybe she can have a baby!! Wouldn't that be swell?? Hasn't she heard of the dog pound??

max penalty is a year in jail,,,, which is just a little harsh,,, she'll probably end up doing six months. I think that's about fair.
Haha, you are on the most illogical posters that I've seen on this board in the past few months. You seem to hate people and have a total disregard for animals. You demand respect from your dogs because you can't get any respect from people. You post your anti-animal rhetoric and brag about killing animals because you are obviously too weak to fight an actual human. You speak of cyber bullies when you are nothing but a cyber antagonist. You know that you say whatever you want to piss people off on these boards because in person those same people will knock you flat on your azz. Such a tough guy killing defenseless animals with guns and bows.

You are right about one thing.....America is in complete decline. But that's because of sissys like you that attack people from behind your keyboard all day long. Wow, what a man you are. You kills animals, demand absolute respect from animals (lol) and attack people online.

Please keep typing and posting because I need people like to amuse me all day long.

And if you ever leave the house, please try speaking that ignorance to someones face and send us an update from the ER, coward.

This is embarrassing. I pay taxes into a system that can't even prosecute the most obvious of crimes! I don't want Big Brother taking pictures of me as I walk down the street (which is already being done in downtown Orlando). I want the government to prosecute the obvious crimes, though! Failures like this make it obvious that we need stronger leaders in office.

This woman deserves some serious community services and some CHARACTER EDUCATION. Maybe a prison sentence isn't right--I don't know. I'm not the judge or prosecutor on the case. It seems like that should be determined at sentencing, though.

I would not expect you, from your past comments, to acknowledge the validity of the studies since it would threaten your precious pathological view of the world, but it is well proven that abuse of animals bears a high correlation to later abuse of children, the elderly, or others in a dependent position relative to the offender. The predictive value has proven to be so high, that a large number of respected psychologists and psychiatrists advocate intervention for these narcissistic sociopaths at the point where they start torturing animals to death. Having been a veterinarian for 20 years, I have seen an increase in animal abuse and neglect; a strong message needs to be sent to Ms. Abrams and her ilk by the justice system that society will not tolerate such casual, pre-medicated cruelty; especially in light of the ready availability of painless euthanasia or placement of the pet with little to no cost to the care-taker. By the way, I think "anthropomorphic" was the word you were pathetically struggling for in your last post.

How sad that you are so starved for attention yourself that you would take the opposite side of such a clear cut issue just to get attention, even negative attention from the internet. If you really believe what you say, you should see from the overwhelmingly negative response to your posts that you a out of step with the majority of society. But it is the majority of us who are wrong in your mind, is that not so? Better to check in with a mental health pro now before it is too late. The measure of a civilization is the amount of compassion it shows to animals. Age old observation, still true.

Gps marking stands keeps those goofy tapes out of the woods,,,and you from messing with em. Climbing stand keeps anyone from messing with it. As far as beer cans, just being out there awaiting some tasty backstraps is buzz enough, and I leave only footprints and gutpiles.

You aren't smart enough to know that the trial hasn't taken place yet and that the judge could sentance her to up to a year in jail and you call someone else "Bozo"???

You internet "champions" bowing up and fantasizing horrible things done to a human for the sake of an animal WAY too often prove the mental deficiency you suffer from. Perhaps you need more creatine in your diet,,, a good rare steak might help.
