First of all, you are missing the HUGE point. I have no interest or regards concerning the owner of the gun range. The issue once again as stated previously, is WITH THE BUILDER AND SALES ASSOCIATES D.R. HORTON. For someone in the medical field you are very selfness and lacking in compassion. If a doctor does not inform his/her patient of all possible treatments and outcomes, they are liable for malpractice. Same concept applies here otherwise there would not be any laws regarding DISCLOSURE. If you do not believe me, check into CASE LAW. Here you are concerned about the owner of the gun range and not the citizens that reside in BRENTWOOD LAKES. So your annoyance is unfounded. Shame on you as a medical professional!

ortho i just want to thank you for reminding me that there is a wall there.but that is not hurting anyones house values.people who are walking away from their homes is the ones who will get hurt in the end.and if its hurting your BBQs well turn the music up. enjoy life cause life is to short.we have way to much crime in this town and that should be the main focus.rapes and murders and robberies are happening every day in this town and these folks are worried about a gun range that is not hurting no one.and i might add that if everyone would do thier reserch everyone would of known about it being there.im still looking for a home there.does not bother me about a gun range. what worries me is the high crime rate in this town

Now look here my work has nothing to do with this issue. I will tell you it is easier to have compasion for someone dying of cancer than homeowners who didn't reserch their investment. Yes I would feel bad for the man who started his buisness 30 years ago and uses it as his way of supporting his family. Now new people from different states want to close down his livleyhood so they can have better BBQ's. You tell me whats wrong with that. How can you take from Pete to give to Paul. I will tell you one more time, I LIVE HERE, I LIVE FURTYHER AWAY, IF THEY DIDN'T HEAR THE GUN RANGE THEY WOULD HAVE TO BE DEAF. A lot of these people in Brentwood are "house poor" meaning they bought a house they can barley afford.
Bottom line- if they had looked at one city map before they bought their homes they would have known. I do think it is an excuse for some to get out of their inflatted mortgages. I am entitled to my opinion am I not?

The crime is not as bad as you may think. It's really like anywhere elese. What you must keep in mind is how very large the city is. I grew up as a teen in Melbourne when I moved out from mommy and daddys at 18 me and my now husband moved to Orlando. We moved to Palm Bay because of the crime in Orlando, and the price was great and our families still live in Melbourne. If it makes you feel better I can tell you I don't fear for my saftey, my kid and all the neighborhood kids play w/o incident. I did things like drove thru the neighborhood in the day and at night. Looked at the area. The Elementary Schools are all A that I know of. Like anywhere elese though if you don't check it out you may be in a bad neighborhood.

ortho, yes you are free to voice your opinion. and i couldnt of said it any better.very well said.i might of over stated it a bit about the crime but my point was that there are far more meaningful issues that need to be addressed.i too have lived here in palm bay for over 25 years and the crime rate has gone up but not as bad as other cities i might add but enough.but like you said there are city maps and city hall and if you dont do your research then shame on that person

Sure there are more meaningful issues than taking advantages of out-of-states citizens and stick them all with 30years of debt and withold telling them about the hidden non-advertised gun range in their back yard. It is a wicked thing to do!!

Right is right and wrong is wrong. Taking advantage of people is wrong. I guess you agree with taking advantage of people...shows your character.

D R Horton and the sales agents of Brentwood Lakes are directly contributing to the forcloses in Palm Bay by not disclosing to residents and potential residents that there is an active live fire gun range behind the community. As a result, pisses of the resident after the realization is made and they walk away. The result is less tax dollars for the city, less city services, devaluation of surrounding homes, and eventually more people walk away. The cycle continues...

the fact is that the gun range has been there for years.i have lived here for 20 plus years and everyones knows that it has always been there. the real thing is that eveyone jumped at the houseing market when it was high. now some can not afford what they jumped into.so they are blameing their mishap on other things.check with the city hall they can tell ya that everything is at a very low right now.the only thing that i can say that if everyone is so umhappy about it then why are they asking so much for thier homes.facts play a big role.and for all those folks who bought when the market was high well live with it or sell for what ya owe and get out. but walking away and letting your credit go to hell is not the way to go.i have lived here for over 20 years and i still think that where that place is. it is a great place.

I doesn't matter how long you've lived here in Palm Bay. The issue is there are out-of town, state, and country buyers. The Port Malabar Rifle and Gun range should be disclosed to residents and potential residents of Brentwood Lakes with respect to it's existence and proximity. Not disclosing contributes to the increasing foreclosure rate in Palm Bay.

I am aware that many people are losing their homes nationwide. But really if you were in the market to flip your home than good for you. Others simply where buying a home to live in for at least 5 years. This has turned out to be a nightmare on Gun Range BLVD. I do not see why in the world can you not see something wrong with the fraudulent behavior of non-discolsure. This is a violation of Florida Statute 501 DECEPTIVE AND UNFAIR Trade practices Act.

You are unable to construe how residents are feeling. Do you really think they care about having credit issues for 7 to 10 years versus paying to live somewhere you hate for 30 years?
Some can walk away and have. The number will continue to rise if someone does not start doing the right thing soon.

Look we have tried to be nice. You make it very hard. You CAN NOT blame the builder for your house going into forclosure. If you choose to not pay your mortgage the only one who will suffer is you. You need to think long and hard about what your doing. With the banks thightnig up on who they will even give home loans to the effect you feel may be far worse than 7-10 years of bad credit. You may want to figure out if living in an apt. for 7-10 years is the way you want to go.

The builder/Saleperson did not tell about the Gun range. It is a great nuisance. People have children and this is not an environment that many want to raise their children in. 3 former residents could afford their homes, they specifically bought homes else where and then foreclosed in BRENTWOOD LAKES. So I would have to say they are not suffering at all but are in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. They were smart they had a plan to get out and guess what they are not living in an APT.

BTW defaulting in a loan that size may cost them their new home. Your insane if you think the bank they defaulted with is going to sit on that loss.
Defaulting on any loan is ignorant and trashy.

Hello!!!!!!!!!! The bank does not waste time and money chasing people. They simply take you to court to get you out and take back the house. So let me get this straight, the same bank that is now paying people to turn in their keys so that they do not damage the property, is going to come after them. It will not cost them their new home check with a LAWYER. The last time I checked there is something called HOMESTEAD!

You have gotten some bad advice. You are a fool to think you will suffer no reprucations from defaulting on a 300,000 dollar home. Your also a piece of pooh if your motgage lender asked you to return your keys so you would not destroy property. BTW the real name for that is eviction. Yes you idiot they are going to get their money. They are going to sell your home for half of what you paid for it. You will pay the rest.
Kiss your tax return bye-bye while your at it.
Wait till the start directly garnishing you income. Hope you have cash for any car you may need to buy.
Last but not least enjoy your credit card interest rates of 25%. Hope you don't have kids who need college loans either.

Thank you for telling me how you live your life, off credit cards at 25% interest rate. If you have to take out loans to pay for your child's/children education you really screwed up. First of all, children who are high achievers get something called a FULL SCHOLARSHIP. As for my vehicles I always pay cash. Clearly you are not that bright if you lease or finance a car. SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy your automobile. You are illustrating who you really are to start with name calling. Is that not a bit infantile? I asked you a question before are you the blonde or brunette salesperson? No wonder all this nonsense about the lenders coming after people. You are not seeing the point at all. NO wonder so many people are running away from this city. At no time did I say anything about my personal situation. I am talking about this information regarding the citizens of Brentwood Lakes. Clearly you do not watch the news or read the paper. 1 in every 200 homes NATIONWIDE is in foreclosure. Let me guess all those people's income will be Garnished. I DON"T THINK SO!
