Wister Lake holiday tradition in danger of being cancelled

Has the poteau chamber been in charge of the christmas lights at wister lake for the last several years? I read on the leflore county journal the karen wages said they [the chamber] have taken in over 6000.00 dollars each year so where does that money go? She is asking for help to put them up but it seems like with the money she has collected she could pay someone to put them up? Smells a little fishy to me or is she so greedy that she wants all the gravy out of it?

I guess no one looks at topix here in poteau. I still cannot believe that no one has asked the question about where the money goes that is collected at the wister lake light show at christmas.The poteau chamber was told last year from the tourism dept. that they would not help this year with the lights and they just now started a big stink about it. Once again lockhart throws his 2 cents in late like the chamber. They should have started thinking about all off this last year but maybe they are not smart enough and have to be told several times before it is clear enough to them.
