Father David Dueppen and Beatrice Hernandez

I am tired of hearing of the priest scandals. What is the archbishop doing about these situations? He settled on Fr. Dueppen several years ago and still had him working in a parish. The guy evidentally has some serious problems. And I resent Dueppen's scandals committed in the name of my church.

So he got some and so did she. Maybe the baby will be born with superpowers.

The Catholic Church really needs to let the priests marry. They would be better able to advise on family matters and you wouldn't be taking some of your best and brightest out of the gene pool. You've got these brilliant guys (a number of them university professors) and this one is chasing a stripper?! Wouldn't it be better if these men had a helpmate, as in "it is not good for the man to be alone" out of Genesis?

Paul made his recommendations at a time of severe persecution, anyone who was a church leader (and anyone close to that person) had a very limited lifespan. It's high time that the Catholic Church faced up to the historical context of Paul's letters and began following what the rest of the Bible has to say on the subject. There will be no end of trouble until they do.

It is also high time that they stopped inserting the failed teachings of pagan philosophers regarding sex for the much more liberal standards found in the Bible.

His Position now is between GOD and him and he has some serious thinking and praying to do. Let him alone and the media should not be playing this up so much. When some one is down and out and makes a mistake you dont throw dirt at them. You pray to GOD to help him and to forgive him.. Priests are only human and sometimes can go astray. Help him to come back to the church. Pray for him very hard. remember there was a saint who Jesus said he who is not a sinner cast the first stone. and he forgave her

You all have to know the difference, do not buy all the media sells. Sex scandall...how many two?????????? Please remember there are thousand of catholic priest who are doing their job. The catholic church is tronger and stronger...Do not be a fool, just because the media tells you something that sells. This is happening since day one of the church. Like a lawyer or like a dr. you have good priest and those who made a mistake. But please , look at you.......what's happening at home?

Catholics are lucky because we get to practice forgiveness here at home; we don't have to invade other people's religrions to learn tolerance or to deal with the imperfections of others. We have plenty of food for scandal right here at home.
As long as religions are administered by humans, there will be imperfection. We band together to help one another in our struggle to live as we know we should, but we fall short. It's God's grace that we are still welcome to eternal life - and proof of His love for us.
I know David Dueppen personally; he was a priest in my parish for many years and I consider him a friend. Like us all, he is flawed. Like us all, he is worthy of prayer.
It's not easy to be a Catholic these days, but what I like about my religion is what I hope God sees in me - flawed, but faithful, and yearning for His Grace.
I hope that when I stumble my friends are there for me. I can do no less for my friend David now. I pray for him; for the woman of whom he took advantage and who took advantage of him; and most of all for the child they made, who deserves a good life and loving family. I pray to the God who loves us all, and I know I am heard.

I know Father David Deuppen. He was at our parish. I feel and pray for him as I know him to be a good and loving man and a very generous human being. We are all by our humaness broken and because of this brokenness we need to forgive one another and let the Lord be the judge. David, my prayers are with you and with your child. I wish you many blessing.

I agree that priests should be allowed to marry but that statement does not hold true in this instance.
This was a man that frequented strip clubs and spent $1,800 on a stripper the first time he met her. This obviously was an evening planned.
This story has more to do with the character of this man and his superiors than it does anything else.
That poor child needs our prayers. Her mother is a 42 year old stripper and her father a Catholic Priest. I pray her mother stops using her as a meal ticket, gives her to a loving family, and allows her to have an opportnity at a healthy, normal life.
Shame on all of you, David. Were the sex and lies worth it?

At least now this man will no longer fool anybody with his double life. It is a horrible thing to think that a Catholic priest was going to this type of place were a lot of the sex workers have been victims of their own families and of society, to revictimize them. I feel sorry for this woman. From the news I learned of her tragic life. It seems this baby is all she has in her life. I think it would be a mistake to give a man like him the custody of this baby. Children should be brought up by their moms except in cases of child abuse, which does not seem to be the case here. I hope David Dueppen gets to develop a true relationship with God, repents and mends his ways.

I met this man a year ago bc of a family illness and from the moment i laid eyes on him, i knew there was something shady about this man, by the way he carried himself, you knew he felt he above everyone else.
The stripper is milking the baby for all its worth, she already rec'd $10000 from the church from the 'last' tryst! They should both be ashamed of themselves. And if thats the way they conduct themselves that baby does not have a chance!!!!
