Alltel VS Verizon...Need some opinions

I am moving back to AZ next week and need to get new service. I would like to hear opinions from anyone that can help me on which is better Alltel or Verizon for AZ coverage and customer service.

moving back huh? I would have to say verizon. I have been with them for 7 years. I get coverage pretty much everywhere. It does depends on what town you live in. If you move to Phoenix or its surrounding cities, you can get good service with either verizon or alltel. If your moving to a smaller city, especially with mountains, you probably want to go with Verizon. Hope this helps have a nice day. Lyndi

Alltel works in more areas, especially small towns.

Thats a load of crap. I used to own an alltel phone and got horrible serive in the canyons. Not only that I was disrespected by the employees, and constantly had problems with customer service and and the phone itself. Honestly I will never use alltel again and would HIGHLY RECOMEND Verizon.

Hmmm… So, earlier this year I was researching some stuff on Alltel and I remember Consumer Reports said that Alltel scored high Customer Ratings. Here is a link that may be helpful…

I use Verizion. Although it cuts out alot in my home town, it is much betetr than ALLTEL. I hate it that Verizion removed its Tower out by the Mine towards Ray area, we use to have service there. Hope this helps you. My daughter has used Cricket and Sprint and QWEST and they DO NOT work in the Hayden, Winkelman, Duddleyville area at all.

Unless Verizon changes their customer service as a long time customer I'm going elsewhere. A bunch of us have been dropping calls constantly in our area (and not the same street)and the Verizon reps talk to ALL of us like we are stupid, they blame the phone model (and all of ours are different) and tried to replace mine with a MUCH CHEAPER one free as if they were doing me a favor(haha). Yep, I want a cheaper phone to solve a coverage problem that our whole neighborhood now has. Heck the last call to them we were told you have to go outside to make your calls who cares I guess if it's 30 degrees. I guess all our homes on different streets have something blocking our coverage within the last 6 months. I'm really disappointed that as a LONG time customer they are giving us lines and have actually been very sarcastic on the phone. One thing I will not deal with is being lied or have to deal with tech reps that have NO CLUE and would rather lie to you. So I will be leaving them after MANY years and they made it clear they don't care.

well i think verizon is da best!!! they have great deals good service,and cool phones

verizon is ten times better, you get better overall coverage, better phones, better deals and most people have verizon so you can talk to them for free.

Verizon was great for years, but for the past few months, they have been taking down towers and their service has been diminishing (can you hear me now?)... not sure why. I personally have AT&T and I HATE it. I will probably be going with Alltel when my contract is up in 6 months.

Verizon Is the BEST. I used to have Alltel and AT&T THEY SUCK. Now I have Verizon and they have Great customer service.

Shut up landlines are better. Duh!

Well, you don't really have a choice now well do you? Verizon just bought out alltel.

verizon all the way alltel sucks no offense

alltel has better service as far as getting a signal but verizon offers cooler phones and good internet on the phones. I've had alltel for 3 years and its not that exspensive and they've got better deals than verizon

This is an old post I know - anyone live in and around globe? May be relocating to the phoenix area and like the globe area.

Alltel is better I use it when I had verizon lost calls everywhere I went when I got Alltel it helped alot I even got good car insurance because it was all discounts at Alltel verizon sucked it cost me over $300 just to get crappy service per month

And also from last comment verizon does not have Alltel contract Alltel has digital contract that can't be hacked, stolen, or lost, and other types of thief stuff
