Ok so the people that live there will be getting rid of their cell phones? Also, how much was the town paid, if anything, to allow this outfit to plant the poles

They also put up one in East Meadow on Merrick Avenue at the corner of Prospect Road. A true eyesore to the community, really sticks out due to the height and antenna at top.
This article does not say what the poles are used for, anyone know? I hope the town can take some action, they really are unsightly. |

2 I feel the same way. These people with phones embedded in their ears think they are so important. Why not go a step further and embed it in your brain, stick the recharging cord up your a s s when your battery goes dead. How did people get along without them for so many years. The kids today are nauseating with their texting 24/7 and now Twittering?!? |

1 No, only in the under-represented, often neglected unincorporated areas of Long Island. Somehow, village governments manage to say NO to cell towers, or at least to find less obtrusive venues for them -- typically far away from residential areas. Village governments also use their clout with State and Fed officials to have these towers placed elsewhere -- usually in unincorporated areas of the town (i.e., Merrick, Franklin Square, West Hempstead, Uniondale), where the town relents, and resistance by residents is, apparently, futile. |

But if they are 40 ft tall wouldn't they make great basketball players? And we will see them in the next Summer Olympics? |

Denenberg? Press conference? Ah, the little legislator is just grandstanding again. The diminutive Democrat is more effective at getting his name in the newspaper than actually doing something other than proposing some of the stupidest laws ever written. |
