Emmett Till bill before U.S. Senate

I believe a cold case bill to reopen unpunished slayings from the civil rights area is definately a move in the right direction, and every black person (and white) in Mississippi should support it. I don't, however, think it will pass. Blacks are not well represented in Mississippi politics until this day and a lot of racism still exists. However, we all need to start writing our congressmen. For too long, those who are guilty of so many heinous crimes have not been punished. I wonder if it is by design that now that most are probably dead a bill is being introduced to reopen these cases.

I am 100 percent for this Bill.

I wonder if the term hate crimes only pertains to caucasions we have had numerous whites killed ny black people and it wasnt termed hates crime . first of all no one ever killed any one unless they hated them at the moment.wake up people and smell the coffee as nancy grace would say.I dont approve of teh name african americans or asian americans , how about americans stand up and be responsible for your selves in stead of blaming everone else for your problems . you dug that hole now fill it up and quit digging.

I am for the bill as well. The Emmett Till case is a tradegic case that has touched every individual that came across it. I did a report on Emmett Till, and it changed my outlook on life. I feel that Emmett's mother and Emmett's family, should receive justice for him. Any one who has seen that famous photo, knows that no one deserves to die like that. Especially a little boy.
