When you recieve a call or calls at the police station, there are certain procedures that are put into motion. You do not go rushing willy nilly into a situation where you may cause more injury to people on the premises, or put your own officers into extreme danger. Immediately you fall back on your book of procedures. The procedures are not like on TV where somebody rushes in saves the day and everyone is okay in the end, The procedures play by thee percentages. You wait for the proper people to be in place and then you proceed with the operation. My understanding is that the operation has already been reviewed and found to have been run according to the book. No more can be said about it because there is a gag order. |

1 You ARE mistaken Fluffy. It was Jennifer Hawk-Petit's parents who questioned the actions of the Cheshire PD just recently because they didn't get answers to questions they had asked in a letter to the department. The gag order was imposed on all parties - defense, prosecution and the state and local police by the judge last summer not long after the murders. It has nothing to do with any "lawsuit" against the Cheshire police and EVERYTHING to do with the ability of the state to bring the accused to trial and actually obtain a rock solid conviction. Facts work a lot better than imagination Fluffy - and you are way short on facts and way long on imagination here. |

1 Really? You are privy to the entire content of the phone call made by the bank to the police? That's quite interesting, since the transcripts that were released to the public were heavily redacted. By the way, the bank teller didn't make the call to the police - which you would be aware of if you knew anything about the case, instead of spouting off about what you imagine happened and what you think the police should have done. |

1 Well, your love of that lying, loudmouthed ignoramus Michael Savage explains why facts have nothing to do with your posting on THIS topic. You have no understanding of the concept of freedom of speech either.(And man, you really can't spell worth beans either!) |

You constantly have to go back to one question. "Did the police follow procedures as outlined in thier emergency handbook." If so! thier hands are clean. This is not a TV show where the hero rushes in and everything is okay. Everything is not always alright. Sometimes evil wins the battle. However as we see in the aftermath in the end good always wins out in the end.
Look at what people have turned this tragedy into. Look at the good that people have done since this horrible event. Think of the lemonade that has been made out of these lemons. DO NOT TRY TO MAKE A FURTHER TRAGEDY OF THIS EVENT BY BLAMING PEOPLE OTHER THEN THE MURDERERS>>>.... The police and emergency personel will review thier emergency procedures and update them if needed. |

1 It's so easy to second guess the police when we all know who was in the house and what they were doing AFTER THE FACT. It's like the audience at a horror movie yelling at the teenager who is about to open the door and go into the basement " DON'T GO DOWN THERE!!!" because the audience knows what's waiting there. I'm sure that the Cheshire police have carefully reviewed every action they took that day and if changes to training and procedures are warranted, that they will have made them. The testimony at the trials will further clarify what happened for the rest of us. In the meantime, you are right - there HAS been a real effort on the part of many people to honor the memories of the Petit women so that their legacy of doing good will continue. |
