You'll never get the quality of work in Mexico that you did in Erie. Taco benders have no work ethics. All they want is their siesta. Here's hoping the mexicans ruin steris.

When Steris moved to Guadal who the hell cares, they only cared for how much money they would be saving. Forget that the mexicans making the hospital equipment have no education or that they had no idea what the hell they were making.Or forget the fact that the equipment sat down there for months , while the mexicants stood around there trying to sobber up enough to figure out what the hell they were making. Yeah, sure makes me feel better knowing that our hospitals in the United States use that equipment. SCREW STERIS.

YEAH! Let's rejoice in the building-up of MEXICO and a few greedy stockholders!

Can you imaging how big the headline will be when GE (eventually) leaves town?

The Mexican economy is booming. Companies move there because the environmental regulations are more relaxed and there is no workmans comp., OSHA, etc. America has regulated itself out of business.

I guess it is better to keep ones mouth shut and to be thought of being an idiot than to open it and confirm it.

Erie Renewable Energy LLC's air-quality permit application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection include:

nitrogen oxides -- 354.12 tons a year;

sulfur dioxide -- 99.25 tons a year;

particulate matter (dioxins and furans) 229.95 tons a year;

volatile organic compounds -- 27.9 tons a year.

This is what ...you...get for burning 800 tons of tires a day

(dioxins and furans)

229.95 tons a year

It must have been the huge savings from when Steris terminated all the employee cell phone usage that made the difference!

I guess I don't understand why the Erie paper would print an article that seems to rejoice in the success of a plant that moved out of the country. It's like adding insult to injury. Outsourcing jobs isn't a great thing for Erie or the country, in case they haven't realized this. And You can call it greed or over-regulation or whatever you want, all our corporations have outsourced average, middle-class manufacturing positions, union or non. Factories that used to hire temps have moved overseas. It's because corporations can make obscene profits by hiring labor at the extremely low wages they pay in foreign, third-world countries. We can't compete with that because our cost of living won't allow us to work for that kind of wage. Those of you who seem to take pleasure in bad-mouthing people who have lost their jobs, I bet you don't live on the income of an average worker in India or Mexico, so why do you consider anyone else who wants to make a living wage greedy? Outsourcing is a good part of why our economy is so shaky, due to the elimination of middle-income jobs. Why anyone would be happy about our country losing jobs to a foreign country is beyond me.
