Doing between 100-120 MPH I suppose a helmet wouldn't help. People who drive recklessly in city limits deserve no sympathy. I feel for the family, but honestly I am glad it was him that was D.O.A. and not the young girls in the car. Helmets don't protect against reckless stupidity.

We need to reduce crazy drivers in WI. And I will have to agreed with Slick. Who would have the guts to drive 100-120 mph. I think he's insane n trying to show off.

Yeah people shouldn't be showing off like driving fast anywhere in their sport car. This is the result you get for driving 100-120 mph in a city limit. Thank God the girls are safe. Crazy driver like you don't need to take other people life but yours.

How dare the three of you judge such a horrible and tragic situation. Yes it is right to be thankful that there was only one death, and that the girls in the care were not D.O.A but to be glad for the death of a young man? Think about if that young man was someone you knew, your brother or son or friend or boyfriend, or husband, and then you read that people are thankful for his death. There is a very good chance he wasn't attempting to take anyone's life. Yes the young man was being reckless, and being dangerous and should NOT have been driving that quickly especially in the city, but he was just that a YOUNG man. I am grateful that the girls in the car are still alive but for you three to post hostile comments about the dead, is in poor taste and just plain ignorant. I bet all of you are such good drivers that you've never turned around while driving to look at your screaming child, or gotten into a car and driven "just a few miles" home after having one to many drinks. I'm sure all of you are such careful drivers that you never talk or text on your cell phone while driving, or reached down for the beverage that you set on the seat next to you that fell to the floor. I'm sure that you've never eaten in the car while driving, or had a bad day at work and drove just a little faster than normal on the high way, or cut someone off because you weren't paying attention and needed to make your exit or turn. All of these things could have resulted in the death of you or the death of someone else. Before you go calling someone insane, or stupid think about yourselves first and all the accidents you could have caused because all it takes is a split second. I've been a paramedic for just 4 years and I've seen people killed because of all the things I'm sure the three of you NEVER do. Come to think of it I'm sure that all of you always double check your blind spots for motorcycles, and always use your signals every time you switch lanes or turn, and I'm sure you all have yourself and the passengers use their seatbelts before you even put the car in drive, because I've seen people killed in auto accidents because something as simple as not using a blinker. Most automotive accidents are just that accidents. So next time you get behind the wheel or sit on the seat of your motorcycle you best make sure that you don't do anything but keep both hands on the wheel ignore your cell phone, and screaming children, don't touch the radio and fallow every single traffic law. Other wise you could just as easily kill yourself or someone else. Helmets may not save lives in the case of recklessness, but there is no safety feature on your vehicle that protects against ignorance.

Thank you Medic15! My thoughts exactly! That is all I will say on that. I was a step-mother at one time to Mykle and he was a great kid! My sympathies goes out to his father/mother and new step-mom/father. Also to Ash and Dani. NO ONE deserves to go the way Mykle did. Our prayers are with the family. So Sorry!!!

How holy you are when the kids aren't related to you! If your kids were the girls, you would be screaming for blood if he lived and they died. The guy was an idiot...plain and simple. At least he cannot reproduce to spread his stupidity. I am sorry for his parents lose, but what would have happened if the accident turned out different...?

I was in a motorcycle accident on May 8 2001. When a woman pulled her car out in front of me as I was on my way home from work. I made it a mile out of town when the accident happened. I had just reached the 55 MP zone when she pulled out. I've been riding motorcycle since I was a young boy. And loved taking a stock motorcycle and chopping it out with an 8" front extension and 6 bend pull back handle bars. Changed to seat to a king queen seat and added a lowering kit. Also placed an oversized rear tire for rider comfortability. This was a project I enjoyed doing in the 70's. I rode the same bike until 97. Waited a couple years and found out what my body and mind wanted. And that was to ride. I had sold my chopper. And later purchased a 1994 Red Honda Interstate. Beautiful machine. Waxed and cleaned it through the winter while in winter lock up. It was such a nice ride my wife at the time even started to ride with me again. After storing it in the winter. I got the bike out early for it's terrific fuel mileage.Until May 8 2001 a woman pulled her car out in front of me. Never seeing my headlight. Instead of crashing into the car. I instincly laid my bike down on the hiway. I didn't crash into her car or she might of gotten killed. Instead it was me. Due to the no helmet law change I was without a helmet. The comfort and freedom with out a helmet made it much much easier to talk to the rider next to you. The crash screwed up my memory and my 27 year marriage. My youngest son was 14 when the accident occurred. I was 45. I was divorced at the age of 47.Drivers must do more better to see motorcycles. We have earned the right to ride also. Yes I had friends and family killed on motorcycles. And was always the problem of the other driver. Like me. I lost my memory. The function of my left arm. And was always thought by doctors and nurses about having seizers while driving. I was not allowed to drive for nearly 3 years after. To drive I had to go through all the driving tests like I did when I was a sophomore in high school. Every time I went into these building to test and re-test and the to find out it needed to be the DMV. So I had to make appointments to drive and test again. Becuase of not whereing a helmet. I had gotten a severe head injury. And to this day none of my motor skills came back. Since May 8 2001 I was without my family,my wife, and without a job. Thats when the depression set it. Because of getting divorced and losing my job of 25 years. Having no memory left of what I use to do for a job. I was unable to place a lawsuite on the woman. Or she would claim bankruptcy. She had a $500,000.00 dollar rider policy. Which I was to get from the insurance company. I was unable to do nothing with the checks on my own. My now X had to be there and co-sign the checks of insurance money. The insurance money was called a settlement. Only I had to pay the flight for life at Theda Clark back all the was charged to the insurance company. I had to pay the doctors back. Besides paying all them back. I had to give my X half the money for pain and suffering. I got divorced. What a deal. I feel I've been placed in this type of situation. And prayed to God everyday. And thank him for letting me see another day. Then easily being talked into from my ex. I payed for my children's accidents. Along with tickets. The day finally came when I ran out of money. Nothing to pay for my children when they were ever in trouble. So I say to EVERYONE in cars or trucks. Watch out for motorcycles. A biker needs to take a different type of road test to be a cycle driver. I passed on my first try. I had practice from a young age.
