How is this not as bad a leaving kids in a car?? Both of the adult family members who knowingly left these toddlers alone -- and left a fire waiting to happen -- should be jailed for many years. In a just world, neither would ever have children again.

I hate to play down a woman being attacked by a mad pitbull but the owner of that dog is in jail and this pitiful excuse of a human being is allowed to walk free and buy her dope and live off her aunts food stamps. This has dragged on way too long. This woman should have been in jail and charged over a week ago.

ok I agree on the whole jail thing....there is a young lady serving time for the very same reason that fights for her mind to stay sane...she lives with the guilt that this too happened to her. I agree that the mom shouldbe jailed. but how do you know she was on drugs why do you have to belittle someone and accuse them. just say that she needs to go to jail. have you ever seen this person do drugs? have you seen her by them? or is it just a figure of speach? if it is it certainly needs to be changed unless you know this person and you are around to see the drug use then you have not right to accuse. problem is....is that children are having children.

The decision should have been made immediately. I didn't know you could leave babies locked in a house or apartment without adult supervision. The mother should have been arrested that day and charged with MURDER. Now she should be charged with a second count of MURDER. Answer the question that probably everyone wants to know, why has no charges been filed against the mother????? This is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!

I realize that a lot of folks are upset here about this case. Yes I have to admit that Iam too. I would like to say to everyone to be patient with this one. Reason being the elements that it takes to bring this case to a court room takes a little time. Fire related cases are a little harder to proccess than a regular case. I know how an investigation is done that is why I have been patient about this one. Things to remember a death case requires autopsies to determine for the court what part of that body failed and why. Then you have the scene that needs to be proccessed. How long were they left alone, what caused the fire and what were the kids doing at the time the fire broke out. It all goes to court with a case number on each peice. When did the mother leave the house, where did she go, how many places did she go, who all did she have contact with that day, was she intoxicated on anything? Then you have witnesses, How many are telling the same story how, how many are lying, how close are the statements. This is the elements of a typical police investigations. Based on this and what I have not included here comes the determination of charges that can be filed from the law book Tennessee Statute. The District Attorney will make this determination and file the charges. Once this is done then our eyes (yours, mine ,and everyone elses) are on the DA for filing the charges, the police dept. for properly gathering evidence to support the charges, and writing reports to support the evidence, Then the courts for the trial and the Judge and Jury for Justice served. One mistake can reduce this case or cause it to be thrown out. Now Folks let's set back and watch what happens when our system is supposed to work. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Hopefully it will this time. As for the crack aunt, Well she has no brain left. That is not a figure of speach or a gesture it is true fact. Crack heads have no sense of reponsibility what so ever because the crack cocaine has deteriated that part of their brain. They are a walking irresponsible body and that is all they are. Well let's watch and see what happens now.

I would have agreed with you a week ago. But it has been too long now. They could have skipped town by now and justice never served. Luckily one of these women is in jail on unrelated charges, but what about the other? There is no doubt these women left these kids home alone. Charges of neglect and child endangerment could have been brought based on that alone with more serious charges filed after the investigation was done. At least then, they couldn't skip town.

I understand your point however this woman is dirt poor and on food stamps. It takes money and resources to run and hide and she has none of this. She has no record so this is first time in trouble. Besides it's not too late, she is going to get her day in court. That is what Iam waiting to see.

Dirt poor criminals run from the law daily. It does not take that much money or resources. If she had money to shop (which is where she claims she was) then she has money to run. She also had a car.

I agree that the system takes time, but while the system is working why isn't the mother in jail ? She is free to walk around living her life, those babies suffered one of the most horrible deaths a human could endure. This was murder, less humane than if they just took a gun & killed them. It was a form of torture on two innocent helpless babies. Also, while I did not witness either one of them actually taking drugs, I've never actually witnessed anyone who is arrested on drug related charges. However, there is no other logical reason for lack of emotion on the aunt's part. No sign of a conscience whatsoever, not one SINGLE tear. One of the first things that puzzled me on her interview was the fact her purse WAS IN THE HOUSE?!? What woman goes "shopping" without her purse?!?! As usual, our laws are partly to blame, and desperately need changing. Unfortunately those two babies didn't have anybody to protect them.

Are you her dealer or does she owe you some cash? You sure as hell seem to think this woman deserves her freedom for some reason that I can't fathom. Poor murderer or rich murderer, It's all the same difference to me. If you are resposible for a crime as heinous as this one, Your ass belongs underneath the jail. Excusing this slap at justice puts the whole community in a bad light and it's already turned around and bit those like you on the ass and it will only get worse....

Nope Iam your dealer boy!! and you are going to pay my bills!!!! LoL!!! Besides I felt like this lady should have been locked up or at least held untill her day court too. Spy aparently you have never worked in the criminal justice system except to maybe being a security guard. You have no idea how the system works and it shows too, with the way you responded to my posting. If you spend as much time learning how to read and word meaning as you do cursing other people then you just might learn something here. I said in the end of the posting that you are referring too that she will get hers once the investigation is completed.

hang them both, only a selfish, monster, leaves BABIES like that alone!! You don't deserve kids if you can't take care of them and provide for them, you get off you tail and pay a sitter, if you can't afford one by george you take them with you. I hope they put her under the jail and then set the jail on fire! Then let her see exactly what those babies went through because she is too sorry of a person to take care of them!!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Gemini

Maybe it's pre-Christmas tension but people can turn nasty in the blink of an eye today. This is especially likely if they've got a lot on their plate or they think they're very important, and you may have to treat them with kid gloves if you want to avoid getting sucked into a bad-tempered war of words. Some gentle humor may help to rescue the situation before it descends into acrimony.
