How many of you Serpico loyalists who attended his annual fund-raiser Wednesday night are aware that in the State of Illinois, a politician who retires is allowed to keep for themselves all of the
unused and unspent monies, donations, contributions, etc. that were collected for fund-raising purposes over the many years. All that is required is for them to pay the income tax on the money upon withdrawal (using the donated money, of course, to pay the tax). I bet the Mayor has quite the piggy bank by now.

Well isn't that special. No wonder he holds a fund-raiser every year, even though there is no election.

He learned this little trick from two of the very best, namely Anthony Bruno and Greg Zito. Back in the day, those two were a dynamic duo of mega-fund-raising....until Greg Zito decided to cash out....so without explanation, he stepped down as State senator, gave all of his faithful supporters the cold shoulder, took all of his fund-raising money out to Wayne, and built himself a big 'ole mansion like he wouldn't have been able to do in downtown Melrose Park. The only problem for GZ was that he got greedy and didn't pay the tax, until he got caught with his pants down, and finally had to pay up fast because the media got hold of the story and was going to make him look real bad just about the time he was starting out as a big-time lobbyist for HSBC.

What Vito is going away for has nothing to do with this. All politicians can keep their political contributions/ money given to their campaigns. That goes from Serpico to Obama. Dumbass!

So, how much do you think he has right about now sitting in that piggy bank....after all, he's had a fund-raising party for every year that he has been in office?

He can use it to pay off the vig on all his gambling debts or the fire and police officials he promoted who helped pay some of those same debts off for the fat ass.

And Vito's police department was 100% politicized.

Wow! Don't buy coerced tickets and lose your job! Brilliant! Another Whitewasher! Is this the best they can do? No wonder so many of them are going to prison. This is too easy. Fish in a barrel!

People can lose jobs if they don't "voluntarily" buy benefit tickets in Fat Ronnie's Vitoville? You must be kidding. Impossible!

I don't want to bet you because I agree that Mayor Serpico would not give a straight answer as to how much is in his little piggy bank these days. Besides, I think that you would have to ask the non-elected Village spokesman for that kind of information.

Why on earth would somebody have to ask a non-elected Village spokesman how much money is in Mayor Serpico's little piggy bank these days?

Hey there Sparky, you must be new around these here parts, or else you would have noticed that for the past several years, any time there was something embarrassing or controversial in Melrose Park that needed some comment by the Mayor, he was always unavailable, or out of town, or out of touch, or otherwise just plain 'ole missing in action and speechless, so that some non-elected Village spokesman who was on the payroll would come out of nowhere and offer some mumbo jumbo response of denial, ignorance, disinterest or non-involvement. Get it now?
