Medina Music Teacher Charged

both over 17 and not students. Unless someone comes forward who had relations with him while a student, then leave the guy alone, bad judgement-yes, criminal- hell no!

the teachers should be respected by the kids.if they are doing the same thing as everyone else how can you have respect. i hope this new guy will be strong and get rid of the teachers that are playing games and that you would listen to the things the kids are saying you could rid the school of all the slackers ,drinkers ect. i think the school board should have a closed meeting and listen to the kids on this band issue. or are you scared of what you will learn..

I know those kids are trying, but without good leadership they aren't going to do so well. It's really sad what has happened to that band.

What are you talking about? Have you seen the band? There is nothing sad about the band this year. The only sad part is that there continues to be people who insist on trying to convince the kids that they should be sad!

I have seen the band this year. They have a lot of work to do. I agree with "poor kids"

Every band at the start of the season always has a lot of work to do. That is why they score low in the first shows and higher in the last ones. Just give the kids the support and encouragement they need to continue working as hard as they are!

Well they won Dome....Ballard lost his Teaching license and all is good in the world

In a way this is quite sad. Sad that someone would throw away his whole career by doing something like this and thinking he could get away with it. Sad that the school was lied to and had to keep paying his salary. Sad that because of all the above many peoples lives were negatively effected.

Ballard didnt lose his license and is not done with teaching. He surrendered it because other options came up and he wants to move on and quit dealing with this bullshit he was put through. As far as the band winning. The class was watered down and the Medina band is very small. Write in a few years when all the kids Ballard and Hoffman taught are gone. Hilton NY.......hmm. Geez I wonder if Matt Schantz wrote again. Get a life loser. Youre fat and you smell

Last I knew you couldn't teach in a school without a license. Sounds like according to "back to jail" (strange name...) that none of this was Ballard's fault...he was "put through it". A "watered down" class....same bands that have been in it for the past several years. I think,back to jail, that you will be suprised at how good this band will be in the years to come. Medina was good before Ballard and it will be after him. These kids went through a lot and have come to realize that is THEIR hard work and determination that saw them through this year and when they all decided to pull together (late in the season) they came out on top. Next year they will do that from the beginning of the season and they will be awesome!

You hang onto it for whatever reason because you worked so hard for that license and paid so much for it. I know because I am also a teacher. Thankful he's gone before my daughter had him as a teacher.

People defend him because he is a good person. Have you sopken to him about why he surrendered? I have! and I understand. Maybe you should get the full story and understand the law. All these blogs from "rochester" are clearly either Joe Organisciak or Brittany Snyder trying to mask themselves as teachers or someone with a kid. Nice try. well said.... you are not very bright. The location that appears is where the internet connection is located. I am from Medina and know Scott and his actions probably before you were even born. Trust me, the Ballard family has not moved on, they will be embarrassed and ashamed for years. Even when they finally sell their house and move out of this town. Ha, you look like a fool. Common sense is not something you go to school for.
