Albion used to be a nice quiet little town, perfect to raise a family. Now the town is still run by the older people who have been here since i was a child. They dont seem to want change. They shoot down any attempts to have new buisnesses, or places for our young children to go and have fun.Yes we are a prison town.We who are not housed in the prison facility are still prisoners.Prisoners unable to afford to get out of this hell hole of corruption and stagnation.

I remember Albion fondly from the early 1960's. My father was transfered there from Lipton's main plant in Hoboken, NJ and our family spent some special years in Albion while I was growing up. The local people were wonderful and you couldn't ask for a nicer town for raising children. It was all so different than the life we had known in the north Jersey suburbs of NY City. Our parents were hesitant to move to upstate NY, but later didn't want to leave. The plant there closed years after and we felt terrible. I don't know what the town went through. I'm sure the executives were all transfered safely to other Lipton facilities. The friends I kept in touch with went on to college but didn't return to Albion. It seems from reading this piece that the locals were left with few options. It is heartbreaking. From a Google search it looks like the Lipton soup plant is now in Brampton, Ontario. I don't feel comfortable second guessing the decissions these small towns had to make when the factories left for other locations.

We moved here from Buffalo thinking it would be more quiet and less congested. We got fucked when they slapped that walmart up at the end of the road two years after we moved here, now it's nonstop noisy traffic, pigs who throw beer bottles, glass, trash, plastic bags, and other detritus from their cars, constantly messing up our lawn and stealing shit we leave out. We didn't move here for this. We wanted peace and quiet for a change. Those who wanted wally world here should have left and moved to a larger city if they didn't want to commute for shopping. If you want peace and contentment you have to move to a place where there are literally NO people, and those places are few and far between. Antartica maybe.

We who are not housed in the prison facility are still prisoners.Prisoners unable to afford to get out of this hell hole of corruption and stagnation. Absolute Truth ~ A Village of Corrupt Moneygrubbers who allow a once fired fatass coke dealer to sue the village he was fired from and take back his job while stating he was gonna **** everyone in this town now that he's back. When in reality it's a simple plan to make everything look pretty so the taxes can keep going up and the fat get fatter taking kickbacks and washing each others backs at the cost of hard working people who at one time thought Albion would be a nice place to settle but found out late that corruption settled here first.

What's the deal with the new codes enforcer. Is he really a coke dealer? I heard he's got problems with people in the village that work for a living such as being able to just walk up in and around your house when you are at work looking under your items covered in your yard , looking in your windows... watching your kids through the shower windows when they are home from school or on vacation...where are the rights of the people of this village. They don't seem to exist here in Albion and if the fatass ever makes it to one of my windows being a peeping tom believe me i'll protect my loved ones ... you can bet on that.

And I can't understand what the deal is with the taxes going up year, after year, after year. Like I said, we moved hear for peace and quiet and didn't mind a little higher mortgage payment for that and a little land. But the advent of walmart took care of that. Disgusting traffic and noise is the order of the day now. Beer bottles, plastic bags and all sorts of trash make it hard to keep a nice lawn. Some people here are surly, so we stay to ourselves. No real jobs to speak of. I wish we'd never moved here.

Everyone complains but no one seems to do anything about it.

I was born and raised in Albion. I left there 50+ years ago for the military. I've been back there a lot over the years as I have family snf friends there. The town has totally degenerated into a place that I wouldn't want to live in. I follow the going-on's in the area. Your local "Policial Machine" is pathetic! After reading the artical, you REALLY need some changes in the area. Most government leaders ore out looking for new business to habitate a county, city or town. That doesn't seem to be the case in Orleans county and its cityies and towns. You better vote in new people with "forward thinking" ideas.
