Race is neutral in my post. He's the one who brought up what color he was and why he was better than everyone in a particular municipality.

Around that time a crew of unruley teenagers were screaming and cursing at the top of their lungs in the middle of my street. None of these litle low lives lives on my street. So naturlly I cant figure out for the life of me why they would be there past curfew...

I called the police, but no one responded. I am begining to get the sense that we've lost all control down here. Over the next two years I have to really begin to consider if I even want to serve another term here in Folcroft. Judging by the things I am begining to see around me, perhaps it is time to go...

To the gentleman or lady who calls themself "curfew you kidding me" let me remind you or perhaps inform you that children under 18 belong engaged in an extracuricullar activity or doing homework at that hour of a school night. Or maybe they should have an afterschool job? Running the damn streets shouldnt be an option. Don't even waste your breath in debate. You've already lost this arguement!

Now my question is for the police department...(1)When the hell will we begin enforcing the curfew that we currently have on the borough books?(2) Is there anything I can do to help?

Joseph i totally agree with you're post, I'm 43 and when i was growing up 15-16 believe it or not i had to be in when the street lights came on, or my parents were out looking for me, this generation of kids aren't like when i was growing up, and it's sad.i have two sons 22and 19 when they were younger yes i've went threw the curfew thing and having too find them at times, but nothing out of hand, they've never got into walking the streets and destroying peoples property "thank god" now they are both out of school and they work everday full time jobs, I'm ver lucky, most teens do not finish school or they are home sleeping all day up all night,

"lord of the Flies",a book I read long ago,is what I see with this generation.Lack of parental guidance,either no adult home to monitor,or a careless adult/s,so the street life becomes their "teacher",and those who rule in their age group become the parents/family.

Now i will address the people who this this town is unsafe. How dare you say you are scared to go out at night in FOLCROFT! We do not live in Philly where the murder rate is top ten. its not the fact that the kids are so bad they just wont to hang out longer then 9pm if the kids had longer to stay out even if it is till 10pm there would be less crime in folcroft and the kids that were so bad that made the curfew change are now 18 and can stay out as long as they wont im not a kid that gets locked up im a volunteer firefighter and i see all that happens in folcroft and its not the blacks or section 8 its the fact that the kids now a days have nothing to do in town and the boys club helps but mot ever one likes sports so just think as a kid would.

I would rather not waste my time argueing with a dim witted mental midget like yourself, however I do feel it is important for me to clear up your piss poor inaccurate presentation of fabricated data regarding my professional staus. So her goes:

Just for the record, I am a Borough Councilman in a town that is 1.1 square miles. It is a place called Folcroft. While Folcroft is indeed a small town it is at no loss for amazing, hardworking tidy, welkl mannered people. It is also home to its share of petty, low life, untidy and crummy, pud tuggars, who are not altogether unlike yourself... My question is: who, among those two classes of Folcroft residents will control our streets. Will it be my Considerate, well mannered law abiding nieghbors whom i have come to love like family? Or will it be the bottom feeding, ill mannered, toothless, mindless, moron, degenerates whose numbers seem to swell by the day?

Regarding me not volunteering for community day, I made it well known that on community day I had a 102 fever and a headach that was so bad I couldnt even move my eyes. I came to show support and brought my niece--who had a wonderful time. Unfortunately the ugly cold she had just one week prior became my cold for the week of community day and the week that followed. I probably could have volunteered but I didnt think it would be wise to risk make other feel as lousy as I did. Throughout the course of community day, I shook a total of three hands, took my niece for a ride on the fire truck and then sat very quietly and low key at an obscure table. When my friend Representative Bryan lentz popped in, I introduced him to a few people but for the most part I stayed very low key. I encouraged a few other democrats to volunteer but they felt awkward and did not want to put themselves in any kind of situation that could become contentious. The only one who wanted to volunteer was Mrs. Lopez but she had her 3 year old grand daughter who, we all agreed, required Mrs. Lopez's undivided attention.

Regarding your silly reference to my professional life, I'll have you know that I happen to have a very good job as a Marketing and Sales rep for a little corporate super giant call Kimberly-Clark. My performanced based quarterly bonus last quarter was quite sizable, not that its any of your business. Furthermore, I am also a part-time employee for a high end catering business called carlinos which is based out of West Chester. And let me not forget to mention, if I am available on any given week night, I have been known to Bartend for a friend of mine who owns a very successful bar downtown. Regarding the tree lighting, which, by the way looks absolutely fantastic, I am affraid I was not able to attend because I took a side job moving an acquaintance from philadelphia to Long Island. She paid me to help load her items and then drive the 16ft Penske truck up 95, past New Jersey, into NewYork City, over the queens borough bridge and on to Lake Ridge Long Island.$450.00 is what i earned, which will be reported in my taxes this year when they are filed and paid on time as always... Sory folks but with the holidays fast approaching,$450 covers many of my holiday expenses. Perhaps if your friends were more industrious and ambitious, then maybe they wouldnt have their names littered all over the Sherrif's file on morgage forclosures. Without getting it specifics or dropping names, I think it was something like 12 forclosures between three people you associate with. Perhaps if they learned to "schlep it" a litle they wouldnt minimoze their financial troubles. And by all miens mention that to them and dont forget to tell them that I would be happy to hook them up with some part time work at the places that I sometimes work to pass the time. Also, we opened a census office up in the Delcroft shopping center. The director of that operation is a good friend of mine and she promised to give Folcroft residents a priority when she made her staffing decisions. Im just saying... There are things people can do to avoid money troubles if they really wanna hustle at it.

!!!!!REGARDING OUR FOLCROFT POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!!!

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE THAT WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST MOST WELL MANNERED, WELL EDUCATED, VASTLY EXPERIANCED POLICE FORCES IN THIS ENTIRE COUNTY.

In fact you could see for yourself if you'd like that in comments on posts similar to this one I have put my own reputation on the line to defend our police sergeant and another officer when they were sued for roughing up the wife beating whack job who nearly killed a Folcroft cops. The scumbag nearly ran an officer over with his vehicle and dragged one of our finest across a parking lot at high speed. Our officer refused to let go until the suspect was apprehended. I'm not sure if anyone remembers that incident but what they cant be allowed to forget is that I have already gone to bat for this Police Department and will certainly do so again when they need me to.

In fact just to further explain the full scope of that situation let the record show that the press and even some of my fellow liberals cried foul and argued that the police were to brutal. I took plenty of heat for backing our department and I went as far as to say that, "had I been the commanding officer, I would have ordered to suspect shot in order to incapacitate him. And shot again to kill him if the first shots weren’t sufficient." To the dismay of many people, some from my own party, I backed the department up and made it known that I think the officers involved may have been far to kind hearted to the suspect.

Furthermore, I publically refused to support any potential motion by council or possible recommendation from the Mayor to penalize or discipline those officers in any way. So do not try to make it sound as if I am not supportive of our Police Department. They all know full well that I certainly am supportive. In fact there isn’t much that I wouldn’t do to help them to further perfect their law enforcement operation. I will do whatever it takes and sometimes I will hurt others feelings. While I am regretful that this can has and will undoubtedly happen, the best I can is make the effort to sooth hurt feelings and repair strained relationships. If relationships cannotbe mended it wont be on account if my unwillingness to talk things out. And for the record I want people to know that I have no malice toward anyone that might criticize. If I criticize anyone its is almost always constructive in nature.

My criticism of the Police Department (Criticism which has been very sparing, rare at best) is constructive criticism, not malicious criticism. It certainly isn’t anything like the malicious criticism that has been directed toward me since the first day I took office. From a small hand full of embittered parties on the right who will seek to undermine everything I say or do no matter what it is. I can deal with that kind of pettiness but when jerks like “wouldn’t you like to know” try to take my comments out of context for the sake of political opportunism I become annoyed. Especially when the reason they are doing that is in hopes of turning some old friends and neighbors against me. When you do that, it becomes personal and that means your gonna have some problems flung in your direction from my side of the table.

I would like the Police Department to understand that when I am appearing stern, sometimes tough talking and being critical. It is designed to fire up the people it is directed toward! It is designed to motivate those whom I direct those quips toward. Ussually it motivates others to work harder and redouble their efforts for better results. Do feelings sometimes get hurt? Yes but not for very long. Am I sometimes to hard on my help at work or in Politics? Yes, I am, but the few times I have had to lead large group efforts, we always earned above average results and i think its because I'm hard to please, tough talking and results driven. At some point with time and patience I think you'll repsect that bout me when the power base shifts and it will within the next 5 years.

So if I push you now, put the anger on a shelf somewhere and just wait it out long enough to see why I doi it. You can trust me on that. There has always been a method to my madness.

Whythe hell would I?It is quite clear, in fact it is crystal clear that someone in this web forum would like a reader to believe that I hold some form of Malice for the department. But because they arent a true Folcroft kid they don’t understand that my personal ties to members of the Department are far older than his recent amature political debut. I trust that the bulk of full time officers know me better than that. In fact, I know they know me far better.

It is quite clear that whomever this person is that has styled themselves with the pen name “wouldn’t you like to know” is twisting and manipulating my statements as well as misrepresenting my context, tone and intent with a rather obvious agenda. It is clear that my amature rival has yet to learn the arts of sublety.
The gentleman’s motives are very clear: he does so in hopes of trying to turn the police department against the Democrat on Councilman. Its all about partisanship. Because My dim witted opponent knows that his whole regime is nothing without the support of the Department. He fears that the growing Democratic threat--which is still very real by the way—could earn respect and support by the department which in turn would seriously jeopordize the Republican regime. So you see what this amatuire political operative is trying to do is, destroy my friendly relationships with the police. There are a few things this dim witted pug tugger doesn’t understand… They are as follows:
Some of the officers in that department hung out at my house with my older sister, Dated my babysitters, grew up a few years ahead of me in the same community circles that I came up in. We all grew up with the same mentors the same coaches, the same routines. We were all brought up in or around the old republican machine and bore witness togetehr to the viscious political squabbles of the earl 1990’s. Perhaps They Swam on swim team with me or maybe they life guarded with me at the Folcroft poll. In fact I take great pride in sometimes rubbing it in one particular officers face that I still hold some impressive records in the 50meter Brest Stroke, although I must conceed that Pete’s swimming career was far more succesful than mine. My swimming career was a sprint his was more long distance. Mine short lived, his long term. The binds of friendship that form as a result of that kind of teamwork are not soon forgotten.

What the idot who I speak of should know is that our police chief who I respect for his very diplomatic outward political neutrality is my neighbor. He has lived 50 feet from my back door all my life. The guy taught me how to wash my car correctly. The chiefs step son and I rode four wheeler together with our old nieghbors, the Brinks and the Faschinos. The chiefs daughter was my best friends first crush. Now The point that I am trying to make to the FAT ASS who seeks to strain my relationship with the Police Department is this: My roots in this community run far deeper his piss poor amature political debut. My relationships with the people of that police department have been around long before you turn up. And as far as Im concerned, they can be spoiled. Strained? Perhaps. Those acqaintances and working relationships will be just as healthy by the time your outta the picture again.

In regards to the slander you refer too above, your "Republican" candidates knocked on my door stating God awful things about the Democratic candidates and Councilman Papaleo who wasn't even running! So, don't point fingers. The Democratic candidates also knocked on my door in a very respectable manner and were just speaking of issues and about themselves. I am an Independent and can think for myself and can make decisions based on respect and knowledge. The Republicans did not get my vote!
