Got my Village tax bill and looks like it is over $500!! What's up with that! Taxes have definitely gone up with the village and I have yet to see improvements. I guess their calculations were not very good!! Seems like everyone is too pre-occupied with infighting between village and MBPOA! How about the focus changes to cleaning up Neighborhood Rd and encouraging businesses to come in!

Yes it may be over $500 but you TOB bill will be 500 or more less then last year. The bill that arrived last week was for 12 months, not 5 as the one in Dec was. You will NOT get another Village Tax bill till next June 1st. As far as no improvement in on Neighborhood Rd....just remember that it took years for it to get the way it was. It will take time to turn it around. I have seen some improvement. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day. I feel they are doing a great job so far. Go Village!!!

Go Village!!! you've seen improvements on neighborhood road? the only improvements i have seen are the ones that were already underway when the village was voted in. There are gangs of kids all over riding skateboards on the sidewalks. I have seen 4 hookers on neighborhood road in the last 2 weeks. I cannot go to the handy pantry at night because it is filled with trashy people. Pitbulls are everywhere. What improvements are you talking about? maybe the unreadable new street signs? maybe all of the booming stores and businesses?

They don't have a sign advertising over their heads, but they're there. Don't you remember the mbvec saying that was one of the reason to become a village? To get rid of the hookers? And the slumlords? And the sex offenders? Over 2 years later, hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on code enforcers, cars, SUV's, gas and uniforms and we still have slumlords, sex offenders and hookers. Good job code enforcement, keep up the crappy work.

The fact is, nobody else was willing or able to even try to fix things. It is apparent that you have no respect for any of the people who worked hard to get the village accomplished. I disagree with most of what you posted. But, that is because I know things take time to fix. The first thing that needs to be fixed is poor attitudes, which you seem to have. But, you are not the only one.

Arrests & public safety is the job of the SCPD. Maybe if people had done their own research before jumping on the bandwagon and believing everything the "Visionaries" fed them, people would have been more educated & less would have voted to incorporate. If you don't feel safe in your own neighborhood, then move. The decent, hardworking people in this town outnumber the scum immensely.

Code enforcement CANT hand out ticket or stop a vehicles or do ANYTHING. So, why in the hell did we need to spend thousand of dollars on cars, SUV's, gas, uniforms for code enforcement and why are they spending all of their time "patrolling"? I understand it's the job of the police, my question is why are we wasting THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars on a group of "code enforcers" that cant do anything but hand out summons for peoples lawn being too high? It's a f-ing JOKE! And that "bandwagon" that you are talking about was formed from the LIES that the MBVEC was spreading. Smart people had the facts, the MBVEC had the lies.

It makes you sound stupid. My problem with this joke of a village is that we are wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars for a very small group of people who cant DO anything in our village. Do you honestly think the amount of money that we are spending for "code enforcement" is worth it? We get back less then a quarter of the money that we spend for them. If this village was a company, it would go bankrupt. Oh right, it is. THATS why we need to raise taxes so much.

I like it here....my parents bought their house b/f I was born & then my husband & I decided to stay & buy here. Unfortunately, too many people bought the lies spewing from the MBVEC. The "smart" people were calling them out on their lies, but no one wanted to listen to them. The "visionaries" made it sound like it would be a quick fix & the village would fix everything that was wrong w the neighborhood. When people heard that, they put on their rose colored glasses & followed the piper. Now that the village is here....people need to stand up & make their voices heard so that the village is working for us.

This village was formed and now only works for the Vision Team and no one else. It works for Gary and his family. We are wasting money. Gary spends our tax dollars like a drunken sailor. Which is exactly what he is. And if Code enforcement doesn't do any thing, why are we spending over 100,000 dollars on them?

Code enforcement is an ongoing need and it may not be self-supporting. But, it stops people from illegal expansion of their shack on a 40 foot lot, it makes the lazy people who said I'll mow the lawn next month get off their ass and mow. And, it is not police, but it does act as a deterrent because people know if they are seen doing something wrong, they will be reported. The topic is taxes... how's that working out for you?

Yeah wrote: <quoted text>No, that would be the second thing that needs to be fixed. The first thing that needed to be fixed was the businesses related to Deputy Mayor Mcheese and his family and friends. Their businesses are doing OK now thanks to cronyism but created the second problem of shitty attitudes towards the people supposedly running the village. Exactly! My "bad attitude" stems from the fact that I now have have to be governed by a bunch of liar who forced through a village for their own personal gains. I never had to deal with Gary or his family before, now I have to sit back and watch him raise my taxes so he can give his brother thousands of dollars of my tax money. I never had to deal with unicorn motors before. Now he gets thousands of dollars of my tax money so he can over charge the village to fix a bunch of cars that we were promised they would NEVER buy. And "Brady" wonders why I have a "bad attitude"? I'm sick of being lied too and used. At least when the TOB used me for my taxes, the streets were clean and we didn't have gangs. Anyone else notice that since we became a village, the gangs have moved in? We never had them down here before, now we do. And the "code enforcers" cant do anything about them. But yet we still pay them hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to drive around and act like the police. Great village guys. TOTALLY worth it!
