I happen to live near the White well site and have been putting up with the dirt, light and often 24 noise for months...today I get to listen to horns blowing all morning. Maybe we could show some concern for the people that LIVE HERE and not picket so close to someone's home. You can get your point across in several other locations on Rt 43.

Great reporting Bob! I'm positive that EVERY car that went past was in support of the complainers. Also, are you sure that the fist pump was in support? Maybe the guy in the white mini-van was pissed at the complainers and shaking his fist at them. But, since you never do any investigating, we'll never know. You should change the name of your newspaper to the SUB-Standard because that's just what it is!

Come on people, use your common sense. They have crews that do their construction on site, that's the business. Hireing new construction people everytime they move to a new location is not cost effective. They have hired non-construcion jobs to fill other needs, they did that a few months ago, it was advertised in this paper.

From what i understand, that company is hiring a significant amount of local employees, along with ohio employees, training them, and paying very competitive wages, if not better wages than most. Locals are not going to want anybody working around them, if they have the ignorance to create all the disturbances, such as the rat, and yelling. I personally do not think that is very professional, let alone distracting to local drivers. As chesapeake stated in this ad, safety is one of the main concerns as it is for all companies. This is just my personal opinion, i have family that lives in carrolton.

Outstanding! I hope the locals voice their opinions even more. It's true. After the oil and gas companies (and other supporting vendors) have made their promises to employ local people, they've successfully established themselves here and are bringing in their own. The County has swallowed their stories hook, line and sinker, while these (well seasoned) companies know the game well and are laughing under their breath at Carroll County. The time is past due to tighten the noose their so called promises and let them feel some of the pain!

Water and air will not be effected, no historicle evidence of that. Greed, to have cheap affordable clean energy, that will benifit all of us, it's capitalism, the free market. I agree with Get Real.

it's not goin to effect our water and air. But if you do buy into that, wouldn't u rather have experienced people working on the wells as opposed to newly trained locals? You can't really have it both ways, can you?

cheap fuel is a myth people!!! clean air and water not affected?? get real!! but thank you greedy people for selling your souls to big oil. china needs all they can get and thanks you for it. american what makes you STILL show your ignorance about "cheap clean fuel"?? ITS SOLD ON THE WORLD MARKET!!!!!!!! if china is willing to pay $5.00 a gal what makes YOU THINK they will sell it cheaper to you. your oil and gas goes to the HIGHEST BIDDER not the local or lowest bidder. DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THAT???? THEY ARE WILLING TO PAY MORE FOR ALL THE OIL AND GAS REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY WELLS YOU DRILL.THEY WANT IT ALLLLLLLL!!!!!!! so you keep showing us how lame you are about "cheap clean fuel" and the tooth fairy ok?? OH and where did you get "clean fuel" from?? shale oil is NOT CLEANER SORRY. so you keep believing in the tooth fairy if you want just dont expect everyone else to.

How is the clean air effected by drilling any more then any other industrial endeavor? If u are referring to burning the fuel that is produced then get off your computer and stop wasting electricity cause your polluting the air too.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Cancer

Your mind is working well, so give it plenty of exercise. You could get involved in an intellectual discussion that forces you to think things through for yourself, or you might have to do some serious thinking about a forthcoming travel plan. If you're often wary of saying what you think you'll feel much braver about speaking up today, which is good news if you want to fight your corner or express your point of view.
