To the Editor: I cana t believe what people will do in Carrollton. I am talking about the mother, or so-called mother, turning in her six-year-old daughter to Drug Mart for a $30 reward.

Do please try to learn more about a situation before you publicly denounce someone. Keep in mind that the media will twist things around to make a story more appealing. Yes, the mother did take her daughter to the manager when she learned that the child had stolen, but she did not collect a reward and the child was not charged. Mother joked that she should get the reward and, of course, that was twisted around.
Now, brace yourself, children lie and steal. It is up to parents to teach them not to. Even if it's just a piece of candy, it's still wrong. I have marched a child back into the store and taken them to manager myself for stealing. I think mother taught her daughter and important lesson.

I completely agree. What 6 year old really takes things that are $30? They go for candy and smaller objects . I agree on watching the video again because something is off. Besides, what mother really would do this? I've heard of mothers going to jail for their children over murder that they wouldn't turn them in for, and all this was for $30?

Again, I say this story was twisted around by news9. Mother did not turn her child in to collect the $30 reward. Really, people are so quick to judge that they will believe anything the media tells them. Of course, the follow up story explains more, but I'm sure no one read that.
Do you people honestly believe children don't steal? They do and many mothers have taken their child to the manager and made their children return the stolen item and listen to a lecture from managers or nearby police officers about why stealing is wrong and what could happen to them when they steal.
If you guys have children, I can see now that they can get away with anything they want. Good luck.

ZOMBIE, you nailed this one. Your line says it all:If you guys have children, I can see now that they can get away with anything they want.

My mom would have walked me into the store and make me fess up to my wrong, pay the clerk for the item AND return the item.
The I'd be punished at home, too.
Guess what? I have NEVER been arrested. For ANYTHING.
Tough love.

I don't know where you grew up, but when we were 6 we didn't even think of stealing, yes if we did steal candy and we would get our asses tanned, our mother wouldn't try to collect $30.00 for turning us in. I hope you grew up somewhere other than Canton. I have taken my son who stold something and I found out directly to the police department after I made him give the item back to the store. I asked the police officer to let my son, who has mental problems, tell him what would have happened if he would have been caught and sent to jail. I can't believe what you want to think about channel 9 making things up, I read this in the Reporter, It made the front page before channel 9 ever had it on the news. You are a joke.

Topix creates it's own location. I didn't make up any. Topix says that you, Denise Carrollton, are from Cambridge.
I stand by my original comments.
And I am not a joke.
This is a joke:
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender says "why the long face?"

Amazing how someone who spent time in jail for shoplifting and would steal you blind has the guts to write about what others do.

excuse me? I haven't ever spent time in jail for shoplifting, and I don't steal people blind. I would like sam to tell me what it is that I have stolen....
I know you have no proof of what you are talking about, I have even given people money back if they over counted in stores, just in June I found $20 bill on ground in Thornes parking lot, and when I noticed a woman looking for something by her car and asked her what she was looking for, when she told me her money I returned it.
I don't have a problem returning things that don't belong to me, you on other hand are probly another one that doesn't know what the hell you are talking about. So do me this favor, prove to all that you do know what you are talking about and put dates and what is it that I have stole people blind on......don't care if it is public knowledge let it go. I have no problem with that.

I would like everyone in Topix to know this is my sister who is Elaine Brunner, Sam was her x's name, she works as a behavioral teacher who was proven by psy to have 7 different personalities, have no idea how she got teaching job in an Akron school???? She has been acting so nuts lately especially when my grandmother died and her obituary was written by Elaine as she was the 'only beloved grandchild of my grand mothers life???' especially when she had 6 grand children and about 7 great grand children but Elaine's was the only "beloved greatgrandchild". She is slowly ruining my parents life as to tell me that "I was treated like a red-headed stepchild be cause 'nobody' believed me, well she can get off her high horse and kiss its ass!

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Gemini

Try as you might, you won't be able to convince a certain person to see things from your point of view. This character is far too busy letting you know that they're an individual in their own right and they won't be tied down by you. The more you push, the more they'll rebel, so try not to incite further displays of outrageousness.
