I could not believe this when I heard the story of what happend to one of our Galva Kids! Does everyone know about this? This kid was in a group of boys at the Homecoming game and a van followed them leaving the game. When the van stopped, a group of kids ran out and grabbed an 11 year old. They used bingo dobbers and shaving cream to cover this boy. They also used a paintball gun on him. This boy was knocked unconsious and put in the van. A parent was witness to this. The van stopped and the boy was dropped off. The van was pulled over a short while later. The shaving cream, paintball guns, and bingo dobbers were all still in the van. The crazy thing is the driver was the JFL FOOTBALL COACH!! Nothing has been done about this matter. He is still coaching and the kids have not been suspended from football. Are we going to allow this type of assault here in Galva? We claim to be a small community and tightly knit. I do not want to see this violence being allowed in our community. This Family should be outraged with our school...someone give me your opinion!

I heard about this and I for one am appalled. How terrible is this that an adult was driving the van and actually allowed this to happen. Oh sure they can say he didn't do anything but hello he was driving the van! He knew what was going on and he did nothing to stop it, hell he spear headed it! How anyone can defend him is appalling! How could anyone actually stand up in a room and say, oh well its no big deal. Give me a break. This man obviously has issues and needs to have something done! He is being allowed to coach young kids! Is this really who parents want coaching children. To teach them that it is okay to rough some young kids up all in the name of a little fun. I don't understand how anyone is defending him. To those that are put your self in the kids place that were subjected to this crap! What is wrong with people. What because he is IN at the school and is MR. POPULAR it is okay for him to have done that? Because someone of statue has done this it is okay? What happened was so wrong on so many levels and for anyone to defend him or the other kids that took place in this act have screws loose! Action needs to be taken! It needs to be taken and the people of Galva need to stand up and be responsible and support these kids and their parents in this situation and call for justice to be done. How anyone can sit there and say that people are harping on something that was no biggie need help. Those people that are doing so obviously are friends with this coach or friends of the kids that helped do this. Grow up! This is a form of child abuse and needs to be handled like an abuse case. We are talking about an 11yr old that was traumatized. That will probably remember this horrible moment in his life for the rest of his life. I was someone that was picked on and bullied all through my elementry years and high school and let me tell you it left a lasting impression on me. It made me not have the kind of childhood and young teenage years I should have had. Don't let this happen to this kid or to the kids that witnessed it. Stand up and do what is right! Because this is not right and anyone that thinks so are pathetic politcal people who are either friends with this coach or friends of the parents of the kids that were involved. Stop this hate and stop the hazing. This is 2009 and this kind of stuff needs to be taken seriously! And if you think I'm the only one that feels this way visit the Kewanee forums because they have gotten wind of it and are appalled and can't believe that no one is paying for what has transpired on Friday night!

For all of you who believe this is a rumor, check the police records. This kid was taken to the emergency room. They did not verbally assault him, they physically assaulted him. He has bruises and was covered in shaving cream, stain from the dobbers, and paint from being shot with a paintball gun. I don't know if any of you have been shot with a paintball gun, but it hurts! He was knocked out for God Sakes wake up! Put yourselves in this mother's position. This coach should be ashamed. How Embarrassing for our school. We need to support all of our students and make them feel safe to come to school. It is horrible that we are letting this child feel like he is not important enuf for anyone to take a stand. Wake up Galva!

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Gemini

You're in a very erratic mood today, making you restless, edgy and nervy. It may be almost impossible to settle to anything for long, because, as Mercury slows, you soon lose interest. If life becomes boring you'll want to liven it up in some way and it's likely you'll choose the most disruptive and controversial option you can think of, even though you know this will cause trouble.
