Fannie Mae is doing away with higher minimum down-payment requirements for borrowers in parts of the country where home prices are dropping.

Well unless the Mortgage Insurance companies arms's are twisted this really doesnt help much...

Now the MI companies are really dictating the down Payment..

Yeah but what about PMI. Who is going to insure 95% LTV? What Mortgage Insurance company is gonna insure that mortgage?

can we get the government to open up a MI company to insure the loans. this is crap yeah they are doing 95% but who's gonna do your expanded approvals. most of my lenders only do approve/eligibe now
