Kelly's moving to "the most livable city in America", not exactly "get-them- birds-off-my-beach Mayo's" cup of tea.
Would Mayo call-out the Home builder's Association (B. Higgons) lies on their anonymous flier like Kelly did a few weeks ago? I think not. GP problems? Mayo's gonna get 'er done! YOU WATCH! Sprawl Y'all!! It's their poperty, let 'er rip, cut 'er down!! If you don't like the smell of overflowing sewage, move to Portland with them other commie no-growthers. Duffy:Since when is thick skin "leadership"?? Dennis: I was Sooo wrong about Duffy, PLEASE prove me wrong about you!! |

Is Duffy doofy? Just askin cause Mayo is like a wart that never goes away.
Duffy calls herself a life long democrat....how so? I look forward to watching this new commission on the TV!! |

Dennis is a decent fellow, but he has tabled for HumCPR, so gimme a break Jill! If you think he isn't pre-decisional about the GPU, you ain't been paying attention.

As a rural land owner I was extremely happy that Jill appointed Mr. Mayo. We need at LEAST one person on that commission that actually will be looking out for rural people. Faust, krebs are advocating for the most restrictive option A of the GPU as well as making it next to impossible (through their NEW regs) to actually "pass the their tests" and be allowed to live on our own land.
BTW Humboldt Coalition for Property Rights (HumCpr) is truly a coalition made up of over 4,000 land owners of which I joined recently and am a proud member. Most people that live on the land are true environmentalist and take care of their land.........the "city" enviros like "Healthy Humboldt" want to be the one's in charge of the GPU and turn humboldt into one gigantic Preservation Zone....please stop them Dennis. |

Hmmm, I never saw a legal notice posted in the paper or on any BOS agenda for this opening to be appointed (not that it did not happen)- were there other candidates? When did Barbara and Scott decide to move? I ask because Barbara spent money on filing fees to run in a school board election, so timewise, when did Mr. Kelley let it be known he was stepping down?
Anyhow, Good Luck Dennis through Jan., 2011! Jeffrey Lytle McKinleyville - 5th District |

Mayo will be "at least one person..."??? But there's already 3 others voting the way you like, plus Chairman Smith! At what point, exactly, do you begin to lose your cherished rural character? Eventually, after Mayo eases up all them reg'lations, developers will be allowed to build a home here and there, year after year, then what, more and more subdivisions...? CPR successfully exploited rural fear after the county stupidly raided homes. It's always been about the money. Developers buy remote land on the cheap and build big homes on it... Studies have already proven that every new home and car added to remote communities adds unfunded tax liabilities to cities and counties. There are painfully few good stewards living in Humboldt's rural areas, I've visited hundreds in the last 40 years. If there were, they would be strongly advocating for stricter regulations enforcing what they're already doing! VERY FEW can actually afford good stewardship!!! |

Not so, Not So. Rural residents created the water storage program in the upper Mattole, for example, that the county sabotaged with tax and permit challenges. Rural residents have advocated for organized watershed planning to get everyone on board with common goals. The county doesn't want to hear about it. Clif has said, yeah, gotta get on that for more than a year.
It's really kind of amazing to me that the Board of Supervisors, which only governs the unincorporated areas of our county, is so determindly ignorant of and uninterested in the vast majority of the area they're responsible for. So they grab quack nostrums from forest activists who have never made money off forests, and try to inflict them on forest owners who do. Lock it up, lock 'em out, chop it down quick is their forest management policy. It's absolutely back-assward--but the Supes don't talk to the people they supe, except suburbanites like themselves. At least Dennis seems to see this too. |

WOW!!! Common sense is being restored to local government. Thank you Jill. Thank you Dennis. One voice at a time will give the common people our government back.
