Such a sad and terrible thing. I hope Mr. Christie is innocent, having meant him only once I would have never thought he would be involved in this type of activity. The evidence is growing to prove different.

The Human Society is an anti-hunting, anti-fishing, anti-anything that, in their twisted perception "hurts" any animal organization that has no ties to the U.S. Government. It is NOT an "agency" and any "investigator" is a private individual poking around. Cock fighting is illegal. Prosecute it. Possession of the implements is illegal. Prosecute it. But please, please don't glorify the "Humane Society" as something useful. They care more about rodents than they do humans. Oh, and where I live, cockfighting is legal. Probably shouldn't be. I don't gamble, and don't care. I worry about people and helping them, not chickens.

If the owners of the roosters cook them after the fight, I don't see the harm done. Why would that be illegal. Is hacking a chicken's head off when you butcher it any less tramatic than making it fight? Anyone who eats chicken should truly think about that a little.

So, did anyone else notice what appears to be a large amount of (seized?) guns in the background of the picture? What's that all about?

Yes Poon, making it fight is torture. 1,500 years ago Romans sounded just like Poon Tang. "If we're going to execute the Christians, is it any less tramatic than making them fight the lions first?"

Look, I criticise silly people who "rescue" chickens & turkeys. But cock fighting, dog fighting appeals to sick & twisted people only.

I love a good steak. I eat hot dogs & chickens. But we don't allow people to torture animals. It degrades us & our society.

For racoon, bears, and foxes? There's always predators trying to eat your chickens. Even owls and hawks will eat them.

Growing up, raising farm animals was an experience everyone should try. Chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, pigs, geese, chicklets, etc.... Once, after chopping the head off a rooster because it always attacked people, the rooster got up and ran around headless - releasing the rest of it's internal muscular energy. Then, it got defeathered after laying down; and, then cooked up for food. Another time, a family dog killed a chicken. Thus, the dog got the dead chicken tied around it's neck until it started rotting and stinking. The dog never again attacked a chicken.

However, equipping chickens with weaponry to fight themselves in a bloodsport where death is long and grueling is not acceptable behavior; and, it is a pre-meditated, monetary slavery event turned into animal cruelty.

Yes, saw those weapons. In fact, would not mind buying a few of them myself since more and more people will be criminals in a sinking country.

You imbecile, nobody was eating the roosters after the cockfights. Look at the drugs the guy was doping them with. Would you want to ingest that stuff after you ate the chicken meat? No way!

"During and after the fights, injured birds are often injected with a cocktail of various drugs."

"According to one of the pamphlets found, those drugs include adrenaline, quinine and strychnine -- which stimulates the bird's nervous system and makes it harder to kill. "

"At least one bottle of strychnine was recovered from the property."

These aren't butchering tools either.

"found on Christie's property, authorities seized 13 pairs of gaffs and 72 razor-sharp knives -- both implements that fit over the rooster's legs during a fight. Possession of cockfighting tools is a misdemeanor offense, according to California law, and each knife and pair of gaffs could earn the owner up to a $5,000 fine."

And how many guns does it take to kill a Hawk, Poon?
How many can you carry and shoot at once?
How many do you need?

You sound like someone who is defending this sickness. Do you attend cockfights and dogfights?

There's nothing wrong with cock fighting. The last one we had was over Thanksgiving and it was a blast! We had four fights and three survived. We cooked the forth. Mmmmm Mmmmm Good!

the government is getting to big people should be able to have a right to express themselves is what ever speacial intrest groups they want. The states should tax cockfighting because they will never stop it, its tradition,if people think cockfighting is mean they should look other places and look how little children throught the world are being taking care of and spen all ther time and monies fixing that problem, making cockfight illegal is doing nothing but pushing it underground so it can not be watched. Good job state and government.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Gemini

Beware of taking on too much because it will be an effort to get through it all. You might even have to give up the unequal struggle, which won't do much for your ego or your reputation. Be especially careful about this if you're at work because a certain person may try to take advantage of what they see as your weakness or failure to deliver the goods.
