Lots of good candidates. I have more I like than votes to cast. In the election you can vote for 4. Here at this poll you can only pick 1.

Cool Edge. I have too many friends to vote for just 1. Can I do one a day?

I'm not sure. Seems to only let me vote once. maybe if you reboot and get a new IP address. I'm not sure of their rules for successive posts.

Did anyone consider the he fact that you have candidates running from White Oak and one from Dravosburg as well.

Who got the endorsements at the McKeesport meeting on Sunday?

Mark Holtzman, Wayne Washowich, Pat Maksin and Robin Kelly. All good and qualified people. My point is that if I were Mayor of Mckeesport, I'd be supporting McKeesport candidates just as White Oak supported White Oak Candidates and i suspect Dravosburg would support the Dravosburg candidate. All things being equal, which they are at worst, a committee should elect their own. I would suspect that whoever runs against the Mayor in two years is certain to exploit this decision.

It showed lack of respect for McKeesport, especially in the upcoming board term where the real decisions concerning new schools and subsequent tax effects.

Two of the most experienced school directors who have records of promoting education AND reducing taxes didn't even seek the endorsement from their own committee. Draw your own conlusions on that one.

I understand that position. I'd be worried that a former teacher would take care of their friends at contract time and hitting up taxpayers for the bill. I prefer people who have worked with kids and are not beholden to people in the district. We should have more PARENTS run. They are the ones who know what really go on in our schools. A great Superintendent is more important than a teacher on the board. Unfortunatley, 5 members of this board decided not to open the job up to the best candidates available. Seems to me they've already decided on a new one. I wonder who is behind the making that call?

Thanks. I agree with you on the anti-nepotism thing. Seems that is the only reason some folks run.

I think Tom would make an excellent director. Who of any of these candidates has the best interests of the children in mind. He does a fantastic job running the boys/girls club and seems to do what he does because of those kids. Good luck Tom

I cant vote for any of them, since none of them seem to have made themselves public enough in the city for little old me to know what they are about.

Picking a name on a ballot basded on party affiliation or other reason without knowing what the cadidate stands for is DANGEROUS business.

There will be a school board debate. I suspect many of the candidates, if not all will show up this time. I'll post a date when it is scheduled.
