Greedy people! Do you think it is free to run International Village every year? Do you know how much planning and money goes into having it? Any idea? Probably not since you just sit and try to cause trouble. The firework display each year alone is in the thousands. I agree with Gimme a Break...he/she is right.

Meaning, while city officials have had stints on it's board/committee, it is not an event run by the city proper. If that's the case, how could council dictate it's business practices? You are correct. Problem is most of the blowhards on this site don't know these things and would rather just post their ignorance.

Wrong impression! The City is responsible. The Village income and expenses are budget line items. Council votes on the budget. In the past, Chairperson Segina provide a statement of finances each year. Last year they reported about $29,000 collected at the gates. Council has both the authority and resposibility to set paper trail policy for the gates. However, they elect to neglect their duty and responsibily to the public.

Seriously how much money do you people think could possibly be being taken? Even if you assume every gate worker is a thief. You need to worry about a lot more important things going on with the administration than a little 3 day event.

What other things should I (We) worry about that are "going on with the administration?" I think you may be missing a very important point. The gate workers are perhaps the most honest and hard working volunteers in the City. The persons who make the rounds to collect the monies and count the take in the trailer are the sources of suspicion. Only a few are present to self police each other. The gate workers are squeaky clean because they are in public’s view.

How can anyone not see who the people are suspicious of ? It's not the people collecting the money, it's the people they turn it over to. Just remember, Me Worry, it's McKeesport, if only we could type in crayon maybe they'd understand.

Need a paper trail ? How many more years will it take before someone on City Council realizes they actually do have a spine & make that motion ? And you think any councilman still has the 'right stuff' to be mayor ? Not for ignoring the citizens on this subject for so long. They're all guilty.

Every Council person should be disqualified for Mayor for not addressing IV Gate accountibility via introducing a motion for a paper trail.

The simple fact that there is no public accounting for the revenue taken in from IV, is proof enough that not one single council-person,the chairman, or the Mayor (surprise- one & the same) should be considered trustworthy. Like obama & his birth certificate, if you got nothing to hide,'Put UP or Shut Up. And then go away.

The IV Chair Mayor Brewster did no think that gate accountibilty was necessary. It was reported that they grossed about $77,000. I have no idea what part of that was the unaccountable gate revenue.

Of the $77,000 there are many cost that go towards overhead, what was the reported net profit?

Let us review ; 'Does International Village need a paper trail? 91 % says - YES -, 8 % says - NO -. So let me ask younz guys. Do we need a Senator that can't even manage the finances of a 'borough' fair well enough to satisfy his constituents ? How about the hilarity of the created jobs BS ?

Maybe, just maybe, as other avenues open up, this city may receive an 'edict' from a Harrisburg Senator's office,'that in the policy of fairness & honesty & to bring about trust & openess with the people of this city, all IV proceeds from the gates & the City booth will be under the control of a private group of bonded Trustees, made up of 5 citizens of the city, independent of any city office or position. To be elected 'Yearly'.
Hilarious, ain't it ? Sounds like the same lying crap we heard from that socialist in the White House. Problem is, the people here keep buying it.
