Yes, this PPM public rips off makes us all ill -- but it makes others very wealthy via many secret and tax free compensations.
The only way to level the playing field is if some legitimate concerns are shared with the Feds worthy of an investigation. B & G Chairman Chiverini should be the first interviewed by the Feds to confirm that all complies with governing laws. Joe I wish this is an in-person interview -- no hiding behind a phone hook up. They will love "the only person doing the work" earning an exorbitant $253.92 hour. They will love the $232,000 up front and not one teaspoon of dirt turned over! They will love no other proposal demanded an outrageous up front fee. They will love your RFP did not identify an up front fee. They will love that PPM should have been disqualified for being non-responsive with respect to the $230,000 up front fee. They will love five lower bids. They will love former SB member and the MVCM connection. They will love non-responsive to many RFP elements which were ignored by the Slick Six. They will love that PPM recast their fee after knowing what the others proposed. They will love the West Mifflin connection. They will love that PPM was created in time for the West Mifflin contract. Good luck with the interview Joe. SK could help you with this interview because a "good neighbor" is worth $253.92 per hour. I am sure SK did not mean to imply that Smith is not a good neighbor because he did not propose more than $253.92 per hour? Yes SK, the PPM president is a "good neighbor." And, you are a good citizen and SB member who got away with violating the Hatch Act, thanks to your employer creating a new job for you. SK why don't your explain Hatch Act avoidance to the public and to one of your colleagues who may need it? Add a little creditability to your "good neighbor" justification for your vote. Chairman Joe can you provide the resume and credentials for the Principal Engineer at $253.92 per hour? Does this "one man team" have an engineering degree and is he/she a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth? |

Required reading for the superintendent, business manager, solictors, and the Slick Six.
The Tenacious Three have their backsides covered with their revealing news media quotes on PPM. Nice move gals and guy. Is there any MASD parallelism with Luzern County? Note this statement in the following: "They abused their power to enrich themselves." Sound familiar with the Slick Six? The Slick Six may still be running under the radar, but that can change soon. The public will change its transmission frequency to see if they find you on the screen. HEARING MUST EXPOSE FAILINGS THE MORE WE learn about the cash-for-kids juvenile court system run by indicted ex-judge Mark A. Ciavarella Jr., it, too, makes us want to scream,“What’s going on?” An irksome question – one that many people have posed, but no one has yet to fully answer – is this: How could others in the legal community let this continue for years? With federal charges and civil suits pending against Ciavarella and ex-judge Michael T. Conahan, the allegations against them are troubling but clear: They abused their power to enrich themselves. But what about the prosecutors, public defenders, probation officers and other court personnel who might have been in court when juvenile defendants’ most basic rights were blatantly and routinely violated by Ciavarella? Didn’t the lack of due process that landed a disproportionate number of teenagers in detention bother them enough to take action? Respected members of the state’s legal community have openly questioned why action wasn’t taken sooner to stop Ciavarella. Now we might find out. On Monday and Tuesday a state-sanction panel, the Interbranch Commission on Juvenile Justice, will provide our local court officers a forum so they can explain themselves openly and honesty. Under the leadership of Superior Court Judge John M. Cleland, the 11-member commission will hear testimony from the district attorney, a former district attorney, the chief public defender and two people who held key posts in the probation department from 2003 to 2008. The quest, according to Judge Cleland, is to learn more about “the inaction of those who knew or suspected this misconduct was going on but failed to speak out or report it. We want to understand why and how they were intimidated so we can develop recommendations that will protect others who might be in that situation in the future.” We’re hopeful the two-day hearing at the Best Western East Mountain Inn, off Route 115 in Plains Township, provides fruitful answers. Without question, this unprecedented miscarriage of justice that sent more than 1,800 youths into detention, frequently without counsel, is an embarrassment. It has left a cloud over our legal community, stained our good reputation and created a black hole from pending lawsuits. It’s essential to shed light on how the system failed so many – so often – so that it can never be repeated here or elsewhere. |

Quatrain 1 sec V:
The six with the power shall soon tumble when the federal government comes calling and asking questions. It will become obvious to the payers of the taxes that the people they trusted to protect their money have done nothing for them except take care of themselves. Soon the house of cards will come crashing down in the valley of the twin rivers. |
Looking at these numbers it would appear that most taxpayers are a little upset with how our tax dollars are being spent.

Tax payers want answers to the hiring of a 1 man band for $700,000 more than someone more qualified. Stevenson, Spando, and I believe Donato smelled a rat, but had their votes trumped by the slick six

92% OF the people voting think it was a bad move. Looks like the board may have some explaining to do at the next board meeting!

========== Like I've been saying, those people running the city & now the school board have inherited that welfare 'moocher' mentality. They don't care where the money comes from as long as they can get their hands on it & it keeps coming in. Don't worry, I'll bet Donato did more than smell a RAT, he's been around long enough that he can give you their names. That's why the RAT'S did their best to get rid of the only CATS on the school board that could control the vermin population.(Dave & Lori) |

And from the looks of this poll a lot of other people think it was a bad idea. Maybe we will get some answers at the next board meeting. I hear it will be standing room only filled with reporters and concerned taxpayers wanting answers for the recent hiring of a certain project manager.
When is the next board meeting?
Not for much longer with Phil Shar coming to town. Give'em hell coach. |
No they did not! I thought they were elected to watch out for our tax Dollars, not just give them away to friends.
Absolutely NOT.

Well, the news media said he resigned. Is this symbolic for Friday the 13th? Make room MASD for his soon to be unemployed entourage. MASD clear out an office for a third business manager. It is great to see the role the voters played in this. It restores some confidence in the system. |
We don't need a business manager that wants to work from home in Belle Vernon. Report to your work area or don't get paid. It would be typical McKeesport politics to accept a cast-off as long
he doesn't mind coming down to their level. |
This deal stinks. With deals like this it won't be long before the districts fund balance is gone and our taxes go up.
Not at all. There is not one good reason anyone can give that would explain this hiring.
Follow the money and other gifts. Cannot not make it more simple than that. Why is $230,000 needed up front and no other proposal required it???????? There are many (illegal) reasons -- equal to the dollars. However, the system requires indisputable proof. We will have to work on that $ome. Be on alert for new SUVs, etc. |
