I remember not being able to get in any trouble in the neighborhood because your mother would know before you got home....your grandparents lived next to you...your aunt down the street ....2 streets over lived an uncle...and all of them plus your cousins would go over grandma's after church for lunch....the women would wash the dishes while the men watched the steelers in the livingroom

My best memories were when we would go on vacation & seeing McKeesport in the rear view. My final & favorite memory is seeing it for the last time in the rear view mirror of the moving truck.

I enjoyed watching the crack epademic and hud slowly take mckeesport down. I also enjoyed many movie days at school when my teachers were to hungover to teach. I really enjoyed be robed several times too.Like others my fondest memory was leaving that welfare driven, taxpayer burden of a city.

I loved navigating West Fifth Ave trying to straddle the street car "sharp edge" rails away from my bald tires, the fall evening sun blocking the "street car safety island" (responsible for more than one automobile fatality), and above all - traffic was not impeded by two UNNECESSARY STOP SIGNS.

West Fifth always gave me a good shot at or the thrill of the safety island jumping out from behind the sun.

Bring the City back? How many years has the railroad crossing at the two stop signs been closed?

Is the stop sign there to slow outbound traffic for a left try into the adult super market?

Ok, I am not the grammar police & you are not the spelling police but if you are going to correct someone on their spelling at least do it properly. MUST OF got to him? Try MUST HAVE, that is proper grammar. A Teacher? Wow.

I like the tradition at old Tech High when the late Dr. McRoy (SP?) was principle about 1952.

If someone dropped anything on the floor at lunch time all the students would slam their fists on the porcelain tables tops. What a noise zone!

Dr. McRoy was walking through the cafeteria at lunch time with an out of town visitor and reached for a plate and threw it to the floor and it shattered into many fragments.

The visitor almost had a cardiac arrest from the table pounding. The good Dr. could not stop laughing. Doc was as good (bad) as the we students.
