I just glanced at my bill...it appears there is a $6 - $7 increase on the DSL charges.

I just signed a contract to get dsl in december. I will be po'ed if my bill has went up. I bet it has and I dont see how that is right when I am still under my first years contract. I agreed to pay 29.99 for 1.5, a month, for at least 1 year. I am on a tight budget, and 6-7 dollars more a month matters alot to me. Heck, I really didnt have the extra $30, but with the way everything is making you have an e-mail address, and things like that, I felt like I was being forced to have internet. We are getting to a point in the world were we are being made to buy these things and they just keep on monopolizing are county to the point we dont have another choice. I dont have a cell phone and there are many things that are trying to push that down my throut. Before long we will all have to have these things just to pay are bills. Now our cable, along with phone and internet are going to be all in the hands of one place....PRTC. They are going to screw us over big time before we know it. Looks like it already starting!!!

Just wondering if the people who've noticed it going up are on fiber optic or not. That could be the reason. Just a guess though

No, I dont think so. The way I read it, it was everyone. At the bottom of last months bill, it said stuff about this increase. I didnt really get it completly, but I am pretty sure its everyone! BS!!! Plus, even if it is the fiber optic, we are all going to be forced to be on fiber optic before long so ...everyone enjoy the over priced everything, because many people ask for this, thinking it was so much better quality. Well, I am sure it is, but with quality, comes big prices.

I haven't noticed an increase on mine but then again I rarely look at it. I have it set up to be paid automatically. As far as fiber optic it's pretty good. I've been on it for awhile. The Internet is faster and if you have digital cable you get all the HD channels. It looks as good as a bluray disc.

Problem is, Keith told us at the last P.R.T.C. meeting our cable WOULD NOT be going up. I told my husband at the time this was bull-crap that it WOULD go up and they would slip it in somehow. Well he is seldom right but I will have to admit, this is one time he was right and Keith was wrong. I would love to see another company come in so we could switch and we are thinking now about going dish on our T.V.

Yea, my dsl is $6 plus tax higher this month. I dont know how this is right when I am under my first years contract! At least if I was not under contract, I could cancel service if I did not agree in this increase. This is just crap trying to force people to go to the higher speeds. We are going to be in big trouble soon. Giving one company total control of all our extras, ie, phone, cell, internet, tv, is never going to go well for the people. Its not a coinsidense that now that they have almost everyone under there thumb, and the rest is just a matter of time, the rates are now going up. I wish c&w did not sell us out. I like my cable and the price just fine. Its as clear as it needs to be. I am glad to at least be in a location that I get fiber optic nearly last!!!

Well, I am sure that it does seem somewhat better, but for the price we will pay, it will not be worth it. I dread to see what a bill we will have in a couple of years. With cable, I am getting 1 hbo and encore and all the regular channels for $50 a month. Before the dsl increase, my phone bill, with dsl, averaged about $55-$60. The way I have figured, to get what I get now, I am going to have to buy both packages of hbo and encore. Of course that is a few more channels in the end, but I am just fine as long as I had hbo for my series, and 1 encore, for extra movies. I will have to pay nearly $100 just for my tv, when I have to switch, Plus phone/dsl??

We have this company out of Winchester that has their attorney looking in to the county and hopefully this company can bring a choice to the citizens of our county as to which of the two providers we may choose. My fingers are crossed!

Just do without a pack or two of cigarettes, and that will pay for the increase on your dsl bill. You will also be healther.
