The last time Bruce David Janu made a film, it was about genocide. Now, the local director is getting behind the camera once again, this time for a music video shoot.

The music video is from Tom Flannery and the Shillelagh’s debut album, Teen Angst and the Green Flannel. Flannery helped compose the soundtracks to Janu’s two documentaries chronicling the human rights violations in such places as Sudan and Sri Lanka. Facing Sudan won the “Best Documentary Award” at the Illinois International Film Festival in 2008 and Crayons and Paper is currently screening on the Documentary Channel. And now Janu wants to return the favor.

“Tom is an awesome musician and songwriter,” says Janu about the Pennsylvanian native.“My films would not have had the emotional impact they did were it not for him.”

Flannery lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania and has been writing and performing for years. Teen Angst and the Green Flannel is a new direction for Flannery: hard driving rock and roll. The video will be for a song entitled,“If I Only Knew” and it is told through the eyes of a teenage boy.

Janu plans on filming sometime in July and is looking for potential actors for the video.
