THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGALl........"Signific ant companies listed among Hahn's contributors include Pacific L.A. Marine Terminal, which plans to build a $500 million marine oil terminal at the port; HMS Host, which handles some of the restaurant concessions at LAX; Irvine-based Wespac Energy, which is building a jet fuel pipeline that partially runs through Hahn's district and other South Bay cities to LAX; and South Bay Cooperative/United Checker Cab company, which does business at LAX. Local contributors also include Esther Ek, wife of lobbyist John Ek of San Pedro; Eric Eisenberg, CEO of the Renaissance Group and president of the property owners' business improvement district in downtown San Pedro; and Spirit's Boardwalk Grill, which is owned by Jayme Wilson, a leaseholder for Ports O' Call Village and chairman of the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce."
ALL THESE PEOPLE HOPE TO GAIN FINANCIALLY FROM HAHN AS THEY HAVE IN THE PAST. HER BIGGEST CONTRIBUTORS ARE THE WIFE OF A LOBBYIST(disgusting), A COMPANY THAT WAS FINED FOR ILLEGAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE MAYOR (amazing) and A TERMINAL THAT WANTS TO BUILD IN THE PORT(pay-to-play)......IS THERE NO ETHICAL STANDARD THAT HAHN WILL NOT VIOLATE.
Notice the absence of donations from the ILWU and any container terminals in the port where she has chased away business for 8 years........business that will NEVER return and jobs that will NEVER return.
Can there be a corrupt politician than Hahn? Her most notable accomplishments since taking office in 2001........Reggie the Alligator, the Watts Gang Scandal, displacing Eastview Little League and a mass loss of jobs in the port (many due to political pandering not the economy).
Please Recall Hahn before she can do further damage to the community on the the State Lands Commission: the Commission she promised to sue over off-port mitigations which of course never happened. Promises and lies are all Hahn has to offer, just ask the citizens of the 15th District.
I'm with you...amazing that all the people on these threads feel the same way, but, someone is saying we're nuts....RECALL HER!

Good personal decision (she's termed out) to run for another office, bad office choice for Californians. She wants that office, in part, because the Lt. Gov. sits on the State Lands Commission. She hasn't been happy with their opinions and wants the authority to decide differently. In measuring her own statements (more emphasis to local control), she wants more port activity dedicated to local recreation and non-maritime benefit even while ports are concerned about losing economic growth to out of state competition.

Funny, though. Epperhart has a screw loose. He says, because of the city economy and budget, if he were her he would rather be somewhere else. Yet, he is lining up for her job himself. Nice guy, but just another Pedro mouth about Pedro.

Hahn says she is unhappy with State Lands but has never fulfilled her promise of filing a law suit for community mitigation. She is all talk no action. The port is responsible for her few limited accomplishments. I can not think of one off port or non port related accomplishment in her district. However, I can name twenty promises that have not been filled and twenty lies she has told along the way. You are right about Epperhart. BTW, every Hahn decision is a good personal decision, that is the main factor that is contemplated when Hahn makes a decision "what is best for me?"

Hahn will loss the Lt. Governor race because The RECALL is happening. The problem is that CD15 will probably be stuck with her selfish antics for three more years. Whether the recall is successful or not (and I think it will not be) the bad press will make her toxic to statewide donors and expose her for what she is. Best case scenario is it will be a wake-up call to Hahn and she will begin to govern with integrity rather than insolence during her remaining time in office.

I hear the Recall will be announced in early Decemeber in time for the San Pedro Xmas Parade and the Wilmington Xmas Parade where thousands will be gathered and receive a list of Hahn's non-accomplishments.

To the organizers of the Recall......May I suggest Reggie with a Santa hat pass out anti Hahn information. The newspapers and TV would love that. Good Luck.

Janice is a liar and a loser. She asked for another council term and at her swearing-in she told the crowd she was looking to run for Congress. What a phony!

Then two months later she announces she's running for Lt. Gov AS IF we need her kind of laziness and corruption in Sacramento. Liar, user, fraud!

The worst part is that if she were to win (and she WON'T, I pray) is that she has, without question, the worst staff of ANY of the council members, with the possible exception of Gordon Tuber, who is half-way decent.

The rest of her staff is a complete joke. They're rude and ineffective because they don't give a damn. For them it's just a job and a free car and gasoline paid by you and me the taxpayers.

Let's put her (and us) out of the misery she has wrought by recalling her sorry backside. Let her join the ranks of the unemployed and so she can see how crooked and disgusting politicians like her don't do a damn thing for poor people - ANY people, in the district. Let her experience the real miserable lifer she has helped create for us regular folk.

She has screwed up the waterfront plan, we have less police resources than any other areas and she has done NOTHING to get those cops back, she has failed Wilmington, Watts and Harbor City as well, and she caters to a small group of yayhoos instead of the majority of people who want to see some progress in the district.

Enough!! Let's kick her out of office before she does more damage to more people.

Well you are a funny guy. Saying someone ELSE is just another mouth from Pedro about Pedro is hilarious coming from YOU one of the biggest mouths from Pedro about Pedro.

For the reasons you cite I thin she would be an outstanding Lt. Gov. The port should be more resident friendly and attract money from tourists as well as industry,

Right now she is the leading candidate and by golly, I hope she wins. If she wins we win. Simple as that.

The way I see it is if Janice gets elected Lt. Governor in 2010 she stands a good chance of being Obama's Vice-Presidential choice in 2012. Joe Biden, I feel, is too conservative for most Democrats and will be too old for a presidential race in 2016. Since California is a key state the President would be advised to solidify his support from liberals and women. All this pandering Obama has done to rightwingers has accomplished nothing for him.

I am sure if Florez came out ahead in the poll, he would be praising the poll. And his comment about the one having the money winning is a very sad commentary on politics today. I hope Hahn wins this race! It's time to take back California from the likes of Florez.

Did Epperhart write this? This response is taken way to personally. Janice should win. The guy from Harbor that ran last time, should run against this trash from Pedro.

Why do you say that? Most cities require residency to run for office.

The Recall begins at the Christmas Parade you say? I'll be there with bells on!(No pun intended) The merchants on 6th and 7th will be glad to collect signatures. By the way, why are the meters in front of the loud obnoxious windbag's office on Beacon St. covered with red locked bags? So she and her lame ass staff can park for free? If the DOT is reading this, please remove those bags, or else put them on ALL the meters on 6th and 7th St. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Oops! I mean "turkey".

Your thinking got the better of you. He was clearly thinking the CD15 is defined as something greater than just SP. He would like to see a candidate not dominated only by Pedro issues.

She and her staff can always park for free. They have special placards. Oh, and we pay for her car, gas and insurance, too.

San Pedro has the largest number of voters that turns out. Besides, since when has Janice really cared to do anything substantive about Pedro issues?

Besides, do you really want to spoil this evening's celebrations because you've had a flaming row? If possible, live and let live, so you can have a really happy New Year!
