Office of Child Support (NON)Enforcement in McDonough Georgia

The more I deal with this office, the more I realize they really don't care. Why not hire single mothers and fathers to work in this office, maybe then, some work will be done out of it! The people working there now could care less whether you get your child support or not. They move at turtle speed, I just sat on hold for 30 minutes for nothing, not only that, I sat in there office for 3 hours last week for nothing again! All while the non-custodial parent owes me almost 6k in child support. I'm a single mother working two jobs to try and make up for his not contributing to my child's welfare. It's ridiculous! Meanwhile I'm calling clerk of court, sherriff's, child support trying to get my son's father to pay while the office of child support does nothing, can't even answer the phone unless you sit on hold for 30 minutes, that's just totally unacceptable!

I really do feel for you. I went 16 years without them getting anything from my ex for our daughter.I ended up calling the district attorney for an abandonment warrant then i found out he doesn't have much longer to live. My daughter is 18 now and i needed the money when she was growing up. If you total up what he owes me with interest it is right at 80 thousand dollars YES I said 80 thousand. Hope you have better luck than i did. Some people just don't understand what the parents go through that doesn't get support until it happens to them.My prayers go out to you.GOD BLESS. As a child of divorced parents I feel your pain too. I remember watching my mother struggle working 2 and sometimes 3 jobs just to make ends meet. We always had just enough to scrape by, but nothing more. My father never paid child support for us 3 kids. It was awful to watch my mother struggle while he lived it up without a care in the world. Now as a mother myself, I have the utmost respect for mine. I have learned to be a strong independent woman by watching her. It sucked and you are right no one in any position of power cared AT ALL! No one would enforce the judges rulings and make him pay. Mine was a deadbeat dad and to this day I have zero respect for him. I'm so sorry that single parents have to deal with this. I just wish everyone would take care of their kids!

Child support enforcement is worthless! They like to sit on their butts and eat bon-bons all day. You are right, they could careless! Worthless!

So sorry to here everyones story.I understand,I was there.My husband left me and his daughter when she was only 6 months old. This was 21 years ago.At that time the judge awarded me 45 dollars a week.I was paid 3 times.Never was able to collect another dime.My point is , be the best parent you can be and promise yourself never to waste anymore of your time,energy or emotion on the useless other parent.Keep your head up , live right and you will see light at the end of the tunnel.I will never understand how a parent can choose to abandon there own child and how a State can create law only not to enforce it?

What are the fatherhood and visitation and access parts of the enforcement office?I'm just wondering because my babys father just was referred to the fatherhood program, he doesnt want to pay me, and he is trying for access. I just dont know what I'm up against.

Trust me, I agree with you all regarding CSS...THEY SUCK!! You sit on the phone forever to be told one thing one day, and something totally different a week later from the same damn office. They screwed up my child support several times!

As for the "fatherhood program", you can double check on their website, but from my understanding, its a program they offer to the fathers to help them find jobs & start paying their child support, BUT the down fall is, while the fathers are on this program, they allow them a time frame to even get a job, sometimes 3 to 6 mths, all the while you go UNPAID....NO SUPPORT, so guess while they catch a break yet again, the father & CSS just assume the child doesn't need any financial help for that time frame.....WRONG!!! Tell me this though, why is it that parents (whether be the mother or father who's the deadbeat) KNOW how much it cost to take care of a child, and especially knew if they at one time lived under the same roof, but seem to think they minute they are gone, the child just doesn't require an financial support. GET REAL!!! Urrrgggg.....deadbeats frustrate me. Thank goodness my son's father wasn't one & we are now back together & doing great, but I understand everyone's frustration as I see many friends deal with it daily, and since I was required to go thru CSS rather than just deal with my husband (while we were separated for 9 mths), I found out how bad they truly SUCK!

Child Support Enforcement in Georgia is for the people who would pay anyway. Complete waste of tax dollars.

My exhusband has been given a court date THREE TIMES that has a taken a year. He refuses to answer the door to the police to be served, therefore, no court date!

Nice, refuse to answer the door and you don't have to pay child support.

By the way, my exhusband is $33,000 behind in child support and has already been convicted of two counts felony child abadonment. The only time he has ever paid was on probation for those counts. Once off probation, he hasn't paid but a few hundred dollars since.

I am with Henry County Child Support too - they could care less about the good parent and the kids! The bad guys get off, every time! And they don't answer within 7 days either! When they do get money, I swear they sit on it! Probably so the bank incrues interest!
