Shooting leaves one dead in McCall

The victim was my uncle, James Prescott. And let me just say, 3 to the chest is NOT self defense.

1 in the leg, not 3 in the chest.

I Hope the shooter pays for that. James was a good guy.

What type of 'good guy' hides, jumps someone and starts beating them unmercifully with a metal weapon?

Let me remind you CR-ID that these guys were beaten badly before there were any weapons so yeah self defense is bull----!!!!

they were just pissed off that they had gotten their asses handed to them twice before so they showed up with taped up wrists, mouth guards and f*cking metal pipes to get even.. a "good guy" doesn't do that.. he realizes that he got beat and he respects the man who did it.. this was cowardly and i hope the "shooter" doesn't get punished for protecting himself and his friends.. this was at my cousin's house by the way.. if anyone knows anything else about this, i would appreciate knowing..

alright, i just watched a video clip of the news.. the shooter was my cousin, clinton moudy.. he had to get 5 staples in his head after being hit with rebar.. tell me you wouldn't shoot someone that hit you over the head with rebar.. that guy deserved 3 bullets to the kneecaps, testicles and then the chest..

Yeah umm actually I think I might know ur cousin... is his name Clint Mounty? I grew up around him... he used to be my brother's good friend... the stupid reporters are saying that he did it, but If I know Clint the way I think I do then I swear he didn't do it... I mean Clint isn't going to kill a guy for no reason... It had to be self defense and I heard that Clint was already in bad shape from being beaten with crow bars so he wasn't about to shoot nobody... Idk if that's true there are so many lies going around and crap so I hope it wasn't him... anyways... I think that the whole thing was stupid but where there is a guy dead afterwards... I just don't know what to think at the moment... but I know ppl at that party and none of them would do that without a really really good reason... like self defense... I totally believe in self defense

oh I also knew who James Prescott was and yeah he was a nice guy... but when u get into a fight and get ur ass kicked... u need to just back off and realize when you've been beaten and don't go back and try to get even... that makes things even worse as everybody has found out... I'm not saying that he needed to die... but... what happened isn't just the shooters fault... its everybody who was involved... i think the whole thing was horrible and that if time could go backwards then anybody who was involved needs to fix what they did and leave it so nobody gets hurt or anything... but unfortunately things don't go that way and the truth needs to be listened to from both angles and the best possible result is concluded... if it was self defense... then... that's what it was... and nobody can change what happened... anger and hatered never helped solve anything... and neither does revenge... I hope that whatever happens... its the right thing...

yep, moody moudy is my cousin.. if it was him, i sure hope he doesn't get charged with anything for it.. clint's not stupid enough to just shoot someone unless shit was really getting bad.. my brother is trying to say that some guy named eli was the one who actually shot the dude so i don't know.. my brother wasn't there and i don't know where he heard that from..

Yeah i totally know... I've heard that from a lot of other people too... I know Clint... and he wouldn't do shit like that without having a DANG good reason for it... I mean... he's not stupid and he's not a jerk like that... I really really really hope that he doesn't get charged... the new reporters need to get their facts strait... they don't even know it was him... one minute they're all like yep it was him... then they're like oops nope... wrong info... it wasn't him... so yeah they need to shut up their mouths till they f*ing know for real!!!

The news recanted their statement. They said he wasn't the shooter. Of course, they may have been in trouble for releasing the name

Clinton was not only acting in self defense, but the defense of others who were blindsided, knocked out, bloodied. The Prescotts approached the private property armed with deadly weapons. I hope there are plenty of witnesses, the case does not drag on, and people can heal.

Let me say five staples in the head doesn't come close to killing someone, so tell him to cry on someone elses shoulder don't want to here about his staples! he was alert enough to pull the trigger more than once.

Also let me ask were did the gun come from? was it a consealed weapon, if so not good for the shooter atleast in my state. did someone run in the house and get it? if so did they think about calling the police first? Sorry but if you carry a gun wherever you go your only compensating for something else plus only looking for trouble.Sounds like a "chump" to me!!!!!!!!!!

First off I am good friends with the Prescotts but you people have no clue what you are talking about. Kyle- and anyone else who is questioning this. In most states including Idaho self defense does not mean shoot them once in the leg and let them live. When another person enters any part of your property with the intent and apparent capabilities to do physical harm, serious bodliy injury, or death you are justified in stopping that particular threat. It is common courtesy and should have been done here to only stop them with an injury. However, there is nothing written in any law that says to protect your own life or others on your property you can't kill the person. If it takes 1 bullet or 15 to stop the threat, the person who resides there has committed no crime. However, the party of people who beat up the Prescotts should be tried for at the very least simple assault and battery for the fight prior to. In most states there is only one time you are justified as a citizen to open fire on another, and that is they come onto your property and threaten bodily harm. Your right Kyle the guy is a p**** for shooting after being struck with rebar and only needing 5 staples but in Idaho he has that right. Now if it wasn't the person who resides at the house then he will have a hard time at trial explaining why he pulled the trigger. One other thing you all fail to mention, there was alot of alcohol consumed. This is probably going to contribute to them coming back and acting like they did. That doesn't mean he deserved to die (susan r) that means that they made a poor decision and then whoever pulled the trigger made another poor decision. Unless you have ever taken another life don't talk about how easy it is to just off someone. I have taken human life and even at the level of combat I still regret some of the lives taken. RIP James Prescott.
