This larcenous stealing old bag should have had her barn house and property seized as well. After all, it was most likely bought with all or some of the money she stole. It is more than clear that her hands were well in the pockets of our legal system or there is clearly a case of conflict of interest. Stealing is stealing and it doesn't matter from whom. So the question should be what is the real crime here? Wilmeth stealing money and then lying about it or those we expect to uphold our legal system to the fullest extent failing us by giving her a slap on the hand? We dearly need to remember these happenings come voting time.

I guess the public wants there pound of flesh ,however we are all sinners , and what is lost is lost forever . We have to move on and forgive and think about the next life and the final judgement . Gods judgement for all .

I am doing some research on family history and know that I am descended from Bethune Bostick McKenzie who was a plantation owner near Rockingham (killed by Sherman's troops on their March through God's country). He would have been my grandfather's grandfather. We know that the family had ties to this area of S.C. because our grandfather used to go there often to visit, but he died before I was born so I can't ask questions. I am interested in your town's history--who founded it--and wonder if there are any Bethune's or Bostick's still living there who have family history. Any information would be appreciated.

I have some time to think about Harriett in that I grew up in Hartsville and went to school with her at thomas hart . I know it seems harsh but the women center isn't that bad . You have drink machines , candy machines , schooling , a recreation yard , and you can watch color cable TV . Martha Stewart did pretty good , and the best news is broad river has a fairly new facility built in 1993 . It's changed a little since I was out there .The foods pretty good and with good behavior she will be out pretty quick . SC has some of the cleanest facilities , better than most summer camps in sc, just have an extended mandatory stay thats all . Hang in there Harriet, Think of Martha Stewart the millionaire. If she can you can Good Luck

A Thief and a Liar will always be a Thief and a Liar. Forgiveness has nothing to do with it. Hers was a conscious effort to steal and cheat others out of their money. Shame on those with morals so low that they can find any way to condone this kind of behavior. Wilmeth has more in common with Sanford the Cheater, Thief and Liar than Martha Stewart.

Sounds like a lot of bitterness toward this woman. I'm sure no one condoned this behavior . And Sandford can't compare to Harriett , Madoff maybe but he like Harriett is staying in a Luxury Prison . I'm not being sarcastic when I say the sc women center is pretty nice Color TV and all .Crime pays for the rich and the average person thats a victim gets taken for a ride. It's the little guy that steals 100.00 that gets 10 years in a rotten prison. These solicitors that uphold the law have felony DUI's and walk away with a slap on the wrist shows everyone that if youre high enough up on the food chain you walk ..Charges dropped. The little guy no way . The ugly truth is that there is NO JUSTICE.

Never in a Trillion years could you have convinced me that Miss Wilmeth would one day become a criminal and betray those who held her in such high regard professionally and morally, but greed and avarice do realy change people.Look at those in the past who have breached their trust and gone the way of selfishness and self-centerness.Monies and securities loaned to her for business capitalization only were squandered in personal bills for herself and her partner and to the glorification of accumulating horse barns, beautiful 30,000.00 pasture fencing and one-half million dollar horse-barns.This names but a few personal expenses that she spent from loaned monies. The list goes on and on.It was deliberate and without any regard for repaying her debtors. My God Have Mercy on Her Soul!

Miss Wilmeth's Attorney, the notorius Richard Harpolian, must have cost her a pretty stolen penny, dont you guess? 100,000.00 grand or maybe even 200,000.00 grand all financed with stolen monies never to be repaid. She lead many of her sheep to slaughter and so many were elderly and ever-so trusting. Now all we want to really know is what did you do with the rest of the MILLIONS?Stored under HORSE MANURE on the back FORTY?Don't worry though,we will be watching your material possessions for a long time,my DEAR!

I certainly would prefer that a convicted former Hartsville attorney not live in my hometown and I believe that many Hartsville and out-of-town victims just may well echo this thought too.It would be a constant reminder of her misdeeds and criminal behavior. So,why not consider taking your lot and GETTING OUT OF DODGE!

Many victims of Ms. Wilmeth lived in the town of Hartsville before she was even born, so it is her that should leave the town, so that victims want be reminded every day of what she has done! There is nothing left in hartsville for this lady!!
