The most recent unemployment rate from Vinton County was 13.5 percent. "What hurts us is that the majority of our people, close to 60 percent, travel outside the county for employment because there's limited opportunity," said Jody Walker of Vinton County Jobs and Family Services.

There are some good people in Vinton County, BUT
The most trashy are the officials in charge of the county,
And how about our VCEMS?

With a rail service running through town and access to route 32 and 35
You would think they would try to a distribution warehouse to locate here.
And the Ohio river is not that faraway.

But if they did that the officials would lose control of the people in the county,
Welfare is big business here.
