No this division of Goverment couldn't have possible been this stupid ! The insurance company should ask for their money back along with the people from Vinton County. ONDR needs to take cuts in pay and benfits. And Sean Logan is very well know for this. Just ask the residents of Columbiana County. He does what he wants not the people. I guess he got it from his families poker machines. Remember Sean ? I do very well.

If our house burned and we took the money and paid off other debt, besides re-building our home, it would be called insurance fraud! I am sick of the rules not being applied equally!

Rebuild the lodge already, Lake Hope is one of the best parks in the state and Vinton County deserves better!

You are crazy, once the company writes the check, they walk away. The only time this is even a question is when people are insured at replacement costs. If an insured has replacement coverage and does not replace the damaged item, they receice ACV, actual cash value, a depreciated amount. In a large claim, the insured is given the ACV quickly, then once the items are replaced, the insured submits the receipts and gets the differance between ACV and replacemant.

The ODNR has no idea how to properly handle it's funding. The Divisions of Watercraft and Wildlife are rolling in money and the Parks, Forestry and Natural Areas Divisions are going belly up. Political appointees run the Department and poor long term planning, empire building, and fiscal unfairness is the result. The Governor shares in the disregard for Ohio's Parks all the while praising their efforts. Smoke and mirrors folks. See how long it is before he wants more tax money from you.
Besides, the Lake Hope lodge was a loser financially. Taxpayers subsidized it forever. It wasn't that "grand" either. Nothing compared to the other taxpayer supported Hotels that the Parks must maintain now. Every lodge built had a Politician behind it wanting his name on a plaque out front. What a crock!
