What is that crook Rosie up to now?

I wonder if John Edwards got a special invite. Will Hank Attina hire Rosie now and have John fill a position at City Hall - Director of Finance sounds good for this self claimed millionaire.

Why was this business not handled during the City Council meeting held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, just two days ago?
If the current City Administrator announced his intention to retire "months ago" (but continued to serve in that capacity until now), then why the sudden need to tender his resignation? The newly elected and re-elected council members will be installed on December 2, 2009, just 3 weeks from last Wednesday. This matter of the City Administrator's resignation couldn't wait until after the city council's reorganization? What about the unfinished matter of repealing the city's "antiquated" law requiring the City Administrator to be a resident of Montebello? This issue came up during the Oct. 28 meeting but was left unresolved. According to a news story printed in the Montebello Comet, Thursday, Now. 5, 2009: "Montebello May Look Outside To Fill Top City Spot" by Elizabeth Hsing-Huei Chou "The council discussed the possibility of strongly recommending, but not mandating, residency. Molinari made a motion to give the matter more time and to wait until a job description, containing language that residency is "desirable" is drawn up before repealing the ordinance. Council voted unanimously to come back to item at a later meeting with those conditions." Copies of this issue of the Montebello Comet were available inside the Montebello City Council lobby during last Tuesday's meeting which is where I obtained my copy. This is all very odd. |

Something is up and it seems awfully fishy that the meeting was called with such short notice.
Rosie the Lame Duck Mayor is making a mockery of Montebello, I can't believe this. When will it end. |

ARE YOU JOKING!!!!!
Mark tomorrow down on your calendar. If lessons were not learned is South Gate, Montebello officials are living under a rock. Maybe Rosie has been visiting former councilman Robles in prison to get advice. Rosie you will go to prison for what you are about to do. If anybody has not been doing their math, getting rid of Richard Tores who has an 18 month buy out, that comes out to $270,000. Giving Pacheco a contract tomorrow with the same terms another $270,000. Then there is the issue of the uneducated police chief who has a 12 month buy out for $150,000. Thats $690,000 that Rosie and corupt crew are going to cost the city tomorrow. There are laws in place to reverse these actions, thanks to South Gate. People of montebello, open your eyes. She was voted out. This meeting should not happen or be allowed. Cant wait to see you Rosie in a prison jump suit. Maybe you can do your time in one of the police department cells. But joking aside, Rosie these moves will put you in jail. You know they are against the law. But what do you care, you have a 30 million dollar "punitive" lawsuit hanging over your head already for your actions against a select few police officers. Arnold Glassman would never allow this. Have your meeting tomorrow, then in about a year when you least expect it, the fed's will put all the documents together and prison you will be. Hey Be Happy is this what you have been protecting for so long. |

Another antic by a wack job - Rosie (and Ed) Vasquez! Why can't she just go out gracefully - oh, that would require class. Instead she tries to maneuver the strings of her puppets in the City. Rosie, please get lost! I hope the feds come down on her hard!

“Hilltop Park Above All” Since: Sep 08
ISP: Los Angeles, CA |
When the Nazis were retreating out of the USSR in WWII, they followed a policy known as "SCORCHED EARTH." They left the ground barren of crops, burned or destroyed every building or house they could, and poisoned every well for the victors who were forcing their retreat.
The gang of three is using this same policy of Scorched Earth in the Montebello City Council as they are forced out. They are poisoning the budget of Montebello with as many spendthrift, deficit building, unnecessary, and harmful to Montebello's citizen's interests financial items they can in the remainder of their lame duck session. This is just their first of many other things they will try to do to leave a destroyed city budget for their successors, the chosen of the people of Montebello. COME TO THE SPECIAL MEETING FRIDAY AND VOICE YOUR OPINION OF THEIR EFFORTS TO SCORCH MONTEBELLO'S EARTH. |

Can anyone please tell the general public who can't make this short notice meeting or for those who have to work what happens at the meeting. I would really like to know. Got to go to work.

Is this what is really going to happen or is this Billy "Chicken Little" once again running around yelling that the sky is falling. Tell the guy he has his 4 years locked down and relax with the conspiracy theories. But if this happens it would be just as bad as Billy screwing Urteaga out of being the next Mayor as he intends to screw him. We all know he will do what he accuses Rosie of doing and that is running a dictatorship.

Sir, I believe you are exaggerating. I believe you have your information a bit twisted. Mr. Torres has already given his notice of resignation way back in July. It believe it states that he will resign this month, so there is no buyout for Mr. Torres. Also, regarding Mr. Pacheco, I cannot say whether he will be appointed City Administrator or not, but I believe he should continue his role as interim until a full search for candidates has been completed. To appoint him as city administrator would be a foolish move on the council. If in fact he is promoted to city administrator, which I doubt, it would be up to the new council to decide to keep him or give him a buyout. As for the chief, I do believe there is a buyout for him, but as I'm sure you know, for every top level position in municipalities, I believe a buyout is very common. To those who think our city is heading towards financial ruin, I gotta say, I don't see it. The budget was balanced, until finance found a 1 million dollar error someone made and didn't catch. The streets are being fixed and the trees are being trimmed. According to the fire chief, overtime has been cut back, so I don't think things are as dire as you may think. As for Rosie going to jail, well, now you're just being silly... BTW, I heard some very interesting things about voter fraud this past election. I'm sure it won't overturn the election, but some people might be in trouble... |

this city sounds typical all the politicians are corrupt

You know 42 yr. I know that we have had our differences in the past, but I thought with the election behind us, you'd try to be civil now. Comparing the council majority to the Nazis not only is ignorant, but also a slap in the face to every veteren who served our country in Eurpoe in WW II and who voted for any of our council majority. As I have said in the past, I KNOW none of the council members are maliciously trying to hurt our community, yes, even Bill. All the members wants what is best for our city, but, like I have said in the past, their ideologies are different. To claim that our council members are purposely trying to hurt our community is just wrong. I'm sorry, but it is. And I too take offence to comparing ANY of my council members to the Nazi's... Lastly, I have also heard that PXP, the owners of the Montebello Hills are quite upset will Bill Molinari and are contemplating to stop donating some of their proceeds to our city from the oil they pump. Somewhere to the tune of 1.4 million per year. Just a rumor, but if it's true, that'll be a big blow to our budget. |

Special metings have to be posted 24 hours in advance
Was the notice posted to the web site by 4pm yesterday If notices are usually posted to a web site they must be posted there for special and emergency meetings in additon to the one at City Hall. Also if notices are usually posted at libraries, postoffices etc they must be posted there also. Where does montebello customarily post meeting notices? Was a notices posted at all these places where the public looks for notices by 4pm yesterday. Failure to adequately post post notices would be a violation of the Ralph M Brown Act |
||||
|
It is not on the city hall website even now, a few hours before they scheduled the meeting.

Rosie Vasquez, you RUDE little so and so. Why don't you BUY a vowel and quit yourself? You wasted so much money on this election just to keep your fat foot in the door and benifit off the hard workings of us living in MTB. Your DAM Viking Finance people were calling me 3 or 4 times a day to keep your money grabbing hands in office. Now that you got re-elected you can take it easy again and go back to doing what u do best, NOTHING.
|
||||
Administration should really get their act together. |
||||
I will be at the meeting along with several other people I know so I'm sure there will be updates for those who can't attend. You can always go down to the Montebello City Clerk's office and fill out a Public Records request form to obtain your own copy of the meeting on DVD. If you bring your own blank DVD, there is no charge.(That was their policy in the past but it may have changed.) |
||||
|
THIS JUST IN ...
The Special Meeting has been cancelled. I received an email alert regarding this cancellation and called the Montebello City Clerk's office to confirm. |

It would be nice if the Mayor of our city actually knew the rules and regulations of calling together a meeting. I guess someone clued her in and the meeting was called off. Rinky dink at the top and that is a shame on our town.
