I love Cato's!!! They have regular clearance sales and their other clothing is reasonably priced. I like the quality of their clothing as well, and the fact that they carry young girls' clothing, too. I hope that is one store that doesn't close.

Tabz wrote: have you all tried Kali's Koture, across from terry and kathy's on main? they are the only clothing store in Mt.Sterling that sale Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Gucci, all of the brands that you would normall have to drive to lex to get. Check the store out. Oh! Thursdays are 10% off! I HAVE BEEN TO THIS STORE AND I THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT!!!THE PRICES ARE CHEAPER THAN THE MALL AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO DRIVE TO LEXINGTON..WHO NEEDS THE GAS PRICES..THE SELECTION IS SMALL, BUT THEY JUST OPENED..I THOUGHT THE GIRLS THERE WERE VERY NICE TO ME....I'LL MISS GOODYS IF IT GOES OUT OF BUSINESS, BUT NOT DAWAHARES...THIS KALI KATOUR WILL DO GOOD I THINK..

I'm glad Dawahare's is closing. If you didn't walk in the door wearing designer clothes, you were made to feel out of place in their stores. Who wants to shop in a store full of employees that look down upon those wearing clothes from *gasp* KMart or Wal Mart. If they had been friendlier to everyone instead of dry and obnoxious to customers, then they may have had enough business to stay open.

You're right but when I walked out after spending a 159.00 dollars on a pair of jeans and a top which by the was a gift from my daughter they smiled at me then but the day I went in I had been out with my horses and working them but still no reason to be so rude and they was untill they seen I was going to spend so much money.

Dawahares was WAYYY to expensive. I wouldn't really call the "designer" clothes anyway.

Dawahares selection was good until they stopped carrying Polo. It was also good if I had a last minute wedding or formal event and needed to go buy a suit quick if mine was in the cleaners or otherwise dirty. Goodys or Pennys suits just don't cut it for a gentleman. But I understand that most people in the area cant afford to spend that much on clothes, and those of us that can are able to drive to Lexington. So when Dawhares tried to tailor themselves to match the median income of the area, they could not compete against Goody's and Pennys that were still cheaper.

You should have taken Richard Gear with you, he put a stop to that sh*t for "pretty women" *remember*?

lets talk wrote: I have an idea. Stop spending more than you have to at wal-mart. Walmart and Lowes is the key reason your gonna see alot of places pull out of smaller towns. The competition is just to great for other business's. Wal-mart is a one stop shop and they have always been able to brain wash that they are cheaper, but not always, alot of people don't even bother checking prices anywhere else before they buy at walmart. It's the old bait and switch technique. It works everytime. someone that has some sense!

No thanks wrote: Kali's Koture is a joke. They have a very generic selection, the prices are crap...I can get stuff on sale and drive to Lexington for less than what they are selling things for. The employees were not friendly....they didn't even speak to me and I was the only one in the store! And their purses are over-priced knock-offs...wait 'til Court Day if you want a knock-off! Do people know the history of Dawhares and the number of people will lose their jobs. That is the reason for commenting on its closing. The have a great store buty bad management on the coporate level.

Dawahares sucked anyway. Tommy Hilfiger went out of style years ago. And I think their Lucky brand stuff was poor quality compared to the stuff you can buy at the mall. I would much rather drive to Lex. & shop
