just a question here...why in the world didnt you get a DNA test? And if you found out they arent your kids, can you not get a lawyer and get your money back? Surely there is something you can do

Ever notice when weak people cannot dispute what you have to say they will resort to attacking spelling and grammer? And to whispering a "fixed income" means they cannot work more hours and get more money, for one reason or another they are stuck drawing a check.I just hope that someday you are not one of them.

Actually, no he can't. Even though he was wrong, at the time, he was the kids "father" and was court ordered to pay child support. The fact that he isn't now their dad is irrelevant in the eyes of the law.

Being a single mother is not the worst thing in the world, however it's not a thing to be happy or tell everyone about either.

I agree that the two things I hate most are the terms "single mother" and "on a fixed income". Being on a fixed income has to be great because you always have a certain amount of money coming in per month and you can have a budget. Single mothers are playing this for all it is worth. Why even mention being a single mother at all. You are either a mother or not a mother. I could be a Princess Mother but how would putting another word with mother make any difference. This is such a stupid way to say "I am a mother".

I hate hearing the single mother or fixed income thing worse every day.

The people I know on a fixed income have it made. They pay their bills on time and ride around doing nothing the rest of the time telling everyone what a hard time they are having...this is a laugh for sure.

The mothers who are sure to add the phrase "single" to the fact they have a child must be looking for a hand out otherwise why would they add the word "single". It's none of anyones business if they are married, single, divorced or just fooled around and got the kid. This is a form of advertising as far as I am concerned.

I wish people would simply leave off all the fancy or non-important words when speaking about themselves. It is so silly to say things like "I am a single mother" or "I am on a fixed income" or "I have a challenged child" or "I am physically disabled" or "I am presently unemployed". The list is as long as my leg of all these silly terms. Just say I ain't working right now (this means you are able but just don't have a job), I had a stroke and can't work, I got a kid that can't take care of them self, I draw social security (meaning you are over 62 and retired), I draw a welfare check (meaning you are too lazy to work), I get disability because xxxx, or what ever the case my be. It tells the facts and does not lead to asking more questions due to all the fancy words used. When ask where do you work and you answer by saying I am disabled that can mean many different things from being a mental case and can't hold a job to being in a wheelchair with no legs but can answer a telephone in an office and hold a desk job. Just tell it like it is and stop all the questions before they start.

Decades ago, when my husband decided that he had "wasted his time" with me and his child, he just walked off and moved in with someone else. The fact that I was a "single mom" never came to mind. I was simply a "mother" who had go to work and raise the child. He never looked back or provided anything, but he was the loser.

Well at least you left off the single mother crap. Thats a plus. I don't think the man should provide anything because the woman made the choice to have the child. She could have stopped the whole thing by just saying NO. If raising a child made you happy then everything worked out fine. You lived your life and he went on to live his the way it was meant to be. No strings is the best way for all.

No, it was a joint choice. We were husband and wife. Anyway, in any relationship it takes two! He should have provided. No man should produce a child and walk off. That's one reason our society is declining.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Leo

Perhaps it's the fact that it's Christmas Eve and everyone is busy, but you can't help feeling that you're walking on eggshells around certain people. Their emotions are very close to the surface and could erupt at a moment's notice, perhaps in a storm of tears or a fit of pique. Calm them down and ask if you can do anything to help.
