got the light lunch with a blt (two strips of bacon on bread that was falling apart) and potato wedges (the best thing of the whole meal) and a bowl of potato soup (not very good) and a latte... cost over $10. Was not worth the money. He put a lot into the remodeling of the building and the decor, but the food needs improvement.

But the food, which is what the customers are paying for, needs a little work. The sandwich was just meat and bread. And the potato wedges needed to be cooked just a tad longer. Desserts look fabulous though and my coffee was fine. We'll go again. Just needs time to sort things out and figure out what works and what doesn't. Carr's Steakhouse has a very nice building. We gave them several chances but the food never improved and the service and management was deplorable. We haven't been back since October. FYI, the building could be falling in around you but if the food is good and there's a lot of it, nobody seems to care. People in Mayfield want their money's worth and they aren't paying for atmosphere!

Maybe tell the owner instead of getting on this stupid forum and bashing them. New in business might need some feed back from his customers. You know the Bible say's he that is without sin cast the first stone must be a lot of prefect people in Mayfield.

Not a single "bash" on here. Bashing would be saying " that place sucks! The food was awful! They need to shut down right now.." etc. There is a vast difference between constructive criticism, making a simple statement and bashing. You, Think about this, are a dumbass, might be considered a "bash." However, Carr's is beyond help at this point. In my opinion. What do you suggest? Instead of just blowing smoke out of your ass.

Rondo's has closed permanently He opened 3 months which was not long enough to see if it is going to work. But you said to talk to the, the owner would not listen to you he knew it all, which is why it did not make it.

They had great food. It was all home made which is why it's expensive. Making things from scratch using fine ingredients and the time to make it should cost a little extra but the hillbillies around here are used to cheap processed McDonald's. It's a shame rondos didn't make it.

It's a shame rondos didn't make it. You could open a 5 star eatery in Mayfield, but if you do not make the customers happy,it does not matter what you serve.People in this area will not stand outside of a velvet rope waiting to see if some snooty doorman will allow them inside to eat, just because it is a trendy place to be.If you do not give the customer what they want and treat them with respect they will not bother coming back again, no matter what quality of food you serve.Car's steakhouse is the perfect example, they have a very fancy building and a menu that claims they have great food, but after you have been there, have to wait an hour to get a table while you stand there looking at empty tables, get a menu then wait 30 minutes for someone to take your order, then wait another 30 minutes only to get the wrong food or it's ice cold. You realize the place is nothing but a thinly disguised bar in town.Bottom line is you may have the best food in the world but if you don't make the customer happy they will just go someplace else.

Exactly.. I dont believe this I know person has been to either of these establishments. And I was only talking about rondos.. Where absolutely nothing that you said could have ever been a possible experience from that place. There is no doorman.. The employees were very helpful and friendly and there was surely no 30minute wait. If they somehow got your order wrong you mist not have told them because they would have fixed it immediately as any place with excellent customer service would. The food was a decent price considering it was all freshly made and it was delicious. Well worth the money if you like eating real food instead of cheap shit. As for carrs, I've never personally eaten there myself so I'll leave that to others to discuss.

Rondo's was not fine dining.
The food was mediocre at best. The only thing worth eating on my plate was the salad.(The salad dressing was packaged, not homemade; I asked.) The sandwich was thin, tasteless, and stingy. The soup was awful. In my opinion, this constitutes eating "cheap shit", not "real food".
The kitchen didn't have all the equipment necessary to make the wide variety of gourmet coffee drinks they claimed to offer.
The serving ware gave it a very cafeteria-like feel and I was not impressed.
Yes, the place was cute. Yes, the staff was very nice. But nice people in a lovely building aren't enough to ensure customers' support or even success.

3 months is not hardly long enough to give yourself to really know if a place can make it or not.

Well I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Yours isn't going to change mine and mine won't change yours so fighting over the Internet is pointless. Whether we liked it or not it isn't there anymore.

The place is full because it is tiny! I bet they seat 48 max. ~People that work in a restaurant will get my rant below. People that have high expectations and a have never worked in a restaurant, ever, will not~ But one thing I have learned being in the business is that people do not like to wait. And they have unreasonable expectations about having to wait for a table on say, a Sat night at 6 pm. Especially when they are with 24 of their closest friends and family members, need 7 high chairs and all want to sit together, by a window, facing a tree. "What? You mean to tell me you can't seat all of us together, without waiting for one second on a busy night? But, but....(while looking over your head, at a dining room with not one empty table, like you are lying to them) preposterous! We'll just go somewhere else!" said with a huff, like you are stupid for not making 7 empty tables, side by side, appear at once! Sorry. I think it would be fun to be a magician but sadly, I am not. And good luck on your quest, ma'am. You could probably go to Majestic, as they have a large room to accommodate such requests. And you can watch football, golf, underwater basket weaving and bowling, all at the same time! I love when they loudly proclaim that they are leaving. Yes, because I, the underage hostess, own the business and will go home and cry about your decisions. It's like telling the bus boy the food was great. Because he had anything to do with the quality of the food. Awesome....but whatever. It's actually less of a headache when you take your large party elsewhere. Especially, when we clearly are not going to please you in any form or fashion. *jumps off soapbox and goes to clean up someone else's mess. I love my life.*
