Since he is our "proudest son" and the area fell behind him, Kevin Skinner needs to open a Recreational Club for the area teens. He could base it in the old Plaza. See an age limit between 13-19. Hire off duty officers to work security to keep down the weapons and drugs. Put in a restaurant and dance floor and video arcade.

The disclaimer at the end of the show states that the million will be paid out over 40 yrs, not 20 yrs. He will make $25,000 a year. Sucks even worse.

Actually, I was intending it to be a joke to the people on here who complain about not being paid enough and insist that the people with the money ought to step up and help save Mayfield. Although with the money he will likely soon be making in show biz, its still a good way to give back to Mayfield.

You're right about that! Some people act like a damn pack of wild wolves! Too many people act like they are owed something. Get your own is my motto.

Unfortunately places like that never succeed. They are very short lived. Kids get bored very easy, then some one starts bringing in drugs or starts fighting. I have seen them rise and fall very quickly. Even at the school dances no one dances. I agree they need something to do but I don't know what that would be. During the summer I think a DJ or an outdoor concert would be good, and put it out there that it is for the teens only. Other than that I don't know, if you look at Murray they have that virtual arcade and Ricochete and both of them has very little business and they have the college. I do think we need a new improved Theater too. Because all the kids go to Murray or Paducah to go to the movies.

Basically teens want the same thing adults want. A place to meet and chat without being hassled constantly, just like teens have wanted for decades. You will always get a few ppl wanting to drink or worse, that is a given. Has always happened always will. As far as the theater it's not the size, it's their choice of movies they show, and even that is not directly their fault. They have to "bid" on each movie that comes along, so they have to pick movies that will bring in enough money to cover the cost of the movie and still cover their expenses of operating and payroll.Personally I am glad the theater is open again it brings back a lot of good memories of years gone by sitting there on weekends watching movies. The problem with all of the fast food places is they want you to come in spend your money and get out of the way so the next person can do the same,it's just a treadmill process, you are not encouraged to stick around very long. The biggest problem with this city is teens are not welcome anywhere, not even the so called parks built for ppl to hang out in.And that has not changed for the last 30 or 40 years.

The kids need to study and get prepared to move on with their lives instead of gathering to gossup.

You and "Just Me" know what's going on. "Hanging out" doesn't prepare anyone for life.

How many teens do you know that sit at home and study all weekend? Kids need to be kids. They have their entire life to work, and they are in school all week and have homework every night, they are over schooled and sports keep them busy 6-7 days a week. I have a teen and I want them to enjoy life and have fun in a safe drug free enviroment. I am glad the theater is back open, but it needs some work and something to make it more appealing...the city should possible look at helping...idk....but I was very happy to see the teens in the far side of the wal mart parking lot yesterday.....if the hispanics can hang out inside and at the door they better not run ours kids off or I will boycott them. They were way over where they keep all the plants and stuff and not bothering anyone. Any suggestions because I am at a point in my life where I am willing to help, for the sake of my kids and many more. Even school events are lame any more, dances use to be a blast they woud decorate and have food and pictures now they don't do anything. Girls don't even where dresses to homecoming any more, those days were some of the best times of my life.

Obama would love to make this a communist country with himself as our fearless/fearful leader...I did NOT vote for him. Sad in all of this country he is all we could come up with for a leader. If this country was ran like a business and you did not contribute to society you were out!!! Plus we need a good moral person which seems very hard to find these days. The O man scares me, the "church" he went to was not about the love of God it was haterad and venom....you know that has an impact on the person he is....plus his background and history....not for me at all!

And yet, until 2004 he had the highest approval rating in history. It wasn't until Hurricane Katrina and the war kept dragging on, that people started turning on him.
