Maxwells Town Hall

Has anyone noticed that our new council members and mayor are associted with the fire department? Or that their new office "help" is too? Does this concern anyone else? It seems to me when the council considered these new people they should have considered the others that had been previously considered. Hmmm.... and what is with cutting the hours of our village clerk or acting clerk as she calls herself because no one has the guts to put her on as village clerk.

They fired the Village clerk at the last meeting on May 12. They did not announce it in a real public forum however, what they did was call in the new finance officer and had her turn the tape on so it went on record then called the public in. Hmmmm....seems rather illegal to me. First off they aren't to vote on anythng in executive session. They are supposed to come to the decision then make a motion and vote on the matters in public so that role call can be made. Melinda was ill that night, so she was not there. But the board has a member, female, with a tendency to run her mouth at full steam and she told several people that they finally got rid of melinda.Melinda says she knew it would hapen because Ms. Guiney was ill also. She is a board meber who believes in keeping people in the village with tenure.

There is a curfew in Maxwell. It sure wasnt kept this past weekend. One of the board membrs had a party at heir house where minors were seen drinking and driving. This board member also is a fire department personnel, as a boad member he should have known to take the drinkfest inside or moved it elsewhere so as to not diturb the elderly people or the people who actually had to work the next day! 10:00 is the curfew the noise died down to a dull roar around 2:30 some of us ere tired and we didnt even party!

Maxwell Village council had a meeting on June 9th and didnt post it anywhere. Now they put up signs around town stating that t is the second tuesday of every onth. BUT according to the Open Meetings Act, it needs to list specifics. Not just a general notice. COME ON MAYOR YOU WANTED THIS SO BAD YOU TOLD ALL KINDS OF LIES TO GET WHERE YOU ARE IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE STEP UP FOLLOW THE LAW!
